Many young American’s in today’s world are into the diverse scene of rap, and hip hop. This music has a very upbeat and catchy tempo. Rappers in this scene dress very urban, and are always looking for new places to change up their style. In spite of their popularity there are several people who do not agree with this type of music genre, they feel as though these artist aren’t educated enough to be able to release music with no sort of actual meaning, although this is not necessarily true about every rapper. More often than not, rappers portray a stage presence that does not transcend into their personal life. Many rappers today are known for rapping about the regular cars, clothes, money, and women which makes them seem uneducated and one dimensional. When in fact in order for you to build that persona, act on it, and separate it from your personal life you have to be smart and multi-dimensional. Because of this persona that rappers give off, many have a belief that rappers aren’t smart; and that many have never gone to college or even finished high school. You can’t blame people for thinking this way. Due to rappers’ choice of dialect in their songs they tend to sound very uneducated. With the combination of their slang, and improper grammar no one could believe that these people could have ever made it to college. For example these are lyrics from rapper Lil’ Wayne song Phone Home:
