 INTRODUCTION1. Born: December 28, 1937.2. Achievement: Honored with Padma Bhushan, one of the highest civilian awards in 2000.3. Present Chairman Of Tata Group.4. He has taken Tata Group to new heights and under his leadership, Groups revenues have grown manifold.
 THE CHAIRMAN OF MAJOR TATA COMPANIES.
 CHILDHOOD Ratan Tata was born into the famous Tata family.A prominent family belonging to Mumbaiswealthy Parsi community. He was born to Soonoo and Naval Hormusji Tata. Ratan is the great grandson of Tata groupfounder Jamsedji Tata
 CHILDHOOD His childhood was troubled, with his parents separatingin the mid-1940s when he was merely seven and hisyounger brother jimmy was five years old. Their mother moved out and both ratan and his brotherwere raised by their grandmother lady navajbai.
 EARLY CAREER1. Schooling from Campion school in Mumbai.2. In 1962:- Completed B.Sc degree in architecture with structural engineering from Cornell university .3. In 1975:- Done the advanced management program from Harvard business school.
 EARLY CAREER4. December 1962 :- He joined the Tata Group, after turning down a job with IBM on the advice of JRD Tata. He was first sent to Jamshedpur to work at Tata Steel.5. In 1971, Ratan was appointed the Director-in-Charge of The National Radio & Electronics Company Limited (Nelco).6. In 1981, Ratan was named director of Tata Industries, the Groups other holding company.
 Ratan Tata succeeded his uncle JRD Tata as GroupChairman in 1991 He became Chairman of Tata Companies – TataMotors, Tata Steel, Tata Power, Tata ConsultancyServices, Tata Tea, Taj Hotels, Tata Chemicals and TataTeleservices First 3 to 4 yrs were engaged in struggles with the satraps Thrust was equally on technology drivenleadership, global competitiveness and being among the topthree domestically, regardless of the line of business
