In the Federalist No. 72, Alexander Hamilton states that re-eligibility should be ensured in order to prevent an executive from extending his term in office unconstitutionally. Hamilton presents five effects that would occur if a president would only be allowed to serve for a single term. Some of the effects that Hamilton presented are, a reduction in the president’s motivation to be on his best behavior since he would not be concerned about getting re-elected. Another issue that would result if re-eligibility would be denied is that if a president who holds office is obsessed with wealth he might get involved in corruption since he would soon be prohibited from office. The author’s purpose is to establish re-eligibility in order for an executive…
Currently in the United States, we have a system setup where the average citizen is allowed to run for a seat in the House of Representatives or the Senate as long as they meet specific age and citizenship requirements. According to the United States Constitution, “No Person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the Age of twenty five Years, and been seven Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State in which he shall be chosen (U.S. Archives 1). Additionally the United States Constitution states that, “No Person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen (U.S. Archives 1). With these minimum restrictions put in place by our Founding Fathers 236 years ago, they believed that an average citizen of the United States would have gained enough education, “worldly” experience, and maturity in order to successfully make the important decisions needed to run our country and provide checks and balances upon the President of the United States.…
Congressional term limits will make possible what the framers imagined when they created the Constitution in 1787. At the time the Constitution was drafted, career politicians did not exist and were consequently not taken into account. Yet today, career politicians fill the majority of the seats in Congress. This situation goes completely against Federalist No. 62, in which James Madison writes, “Every new election in the States is found to change one half of the representatives. From this change of men must proceed a change of opinions; and from a change of opinions, a change of measures.” Term limits will enforce this idea, and if added to the Constitution, will improve on American democracy by renewing competition in elections and providing better representation of citizens within Congress.…
The conflict this amendment addresses is if there should be presidential term limits or not.…
In agreement with perspective one, my perspective also supports the establishment of term limits. Perspective one favors term limits and describes the many ways it affects our government in a positive way. Perspective one provides reasons to support why term limits matter, such as giving citizens more options of candidates. On the contrary, perspective two disagrees with the idea of term limits. The main reason for this argument is based on experience. Perspective two expands its explanation of experience by describing how new people would substantially affect the government in a negative way due to their lack of experience.…
Can you think if your president had more than two terms???Well I can because Barack has leaded us into the right path for our future. He helped to lower taxes and helped us a little bit with our debt crisis. So Obama should want to choose how many times he wants to be president because if he wants to make this a better place he’s going to have to keep moving forward. So there shall not be any amendment limiting the presidential terms.…
The framers as Thomas Jefferson put it “an assembly of demi-gods” are respected for their phenomenal work; the constitution which has been the guide for the nation since its creation. However, there are a few debates concerning some aspects of this work of the “gods”. The argument concerning the eligibility of a naturalized citizen holding the most important office in the world has been one of the topics of debate since the framers created the constitution. As the constitution says, “No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of president” (Article II, Section I). However some Americans don’t agree with this clause and are urging an immediate revision or amendment of its provision. The United States Constitution should be amended to allow a naturalized citizen to be elected president of the United States as it is a democratic nation.…
Why buy an American made vehicles you ask? I’ll tell you why because buying American made vehicles creates American made jobs. Everyone knows that American made vehicle’s make a distinctive sound. Take for instance the Ford mustang and the Chevy corvette. Who doesn’t like the sound of these vehicles or design? A few things I will discuss about American made manufactures will be the quality they put forth in designing these vehicles, the job security it helps with in America and how American manufactures have now stepped up to the plate with their new innovated designs for the auto industry.…
The period for a new election of a citizen to administer the executive government of the United States being not far distant, and the time actually arrived when your thoughts must be employed in designating the person who is to be clothed with that important trust, it appears to me proper, especially as it may conduce to a more distinct expression of the public voice, that I should now apprise you of the resolution I have formed, to decline being considered among the number of those out of whom a choice is to be made.…

PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of life-threatening events such as the military combat, natural disasters, terrorism incidents, or any major tragedy. This is common in the life of veterans and is the leading cause of suicide among veterans. A VA patient who survived in Baghdad shares his experience with PTSD and explains how he knew he had this disability. Many veterans speak out about this issue and describe their continuous anger, alcohol addiction, and constantly wanted to fight. They usually feel very isolated and distant from their loved ones. One patient states, “PTSD involves rocketing into extreme states of stress re-activity; in the form of terror, rage, and uncontrollable impulses, and plunging into equally extreme states of being shut-down—exhaustion, emotional numbing, despair, and dissociation”. PTSD is about having fear and anxiety, allowing veterans to rage with anger and different emotion. There are many factors to PTSD, which affects others in different ways; or example, using video games to keep them occupied, spending money due to the lack of impulse control because of changes in their brain, and even not obtaining another job.…
Attention Getter: I would like to start my presentation off by telling you all to ask yourselves a series of fairly straight forward questions. I want you to take a look at you’re, any hand and ask your selves “Who’s hand is this?” Do the same with your other hand, and now both legs and your arms if you would like. If I am not mistaking the answer to all your questions are mine right. They are your hands, legs, and arms. What I am trying to get through to you all today is that your body is your body and that a person should be able to profit of his or her own body if done in a safe and controlled way.…
Managing money is an important aspect in a person's life. In the book Managing Your Money: All-in one for dummies by Ted Benna, he mentions a great scenario of how you should treat money where he states, “Just as you have relationships with people in your life, you also have a relationship qwith money-- how you earn it, spend it, lose it and save it.” A disadvantage that we have in today's society is that schools are not equipping our students well enough with the knowledge of how to manage money. I strongly believe that this knowledge of money management should start in high school so that our students are better prepared when they get to college. In Scott Gamm’s article, College Students Lack Money Management Skills, Gamm states the fact of “Millions of students graduate from high school and head off to college with barely any financial knowledge.” Based on my friends' and my own experience this is true. Students are getting into debt early stage in their life because they have never learned how to manage their money properly. The earlier you are taught about finances the better the economic situation you will find yourself in the future. I would like to share some insight with you all of what I have learned in regards to money management that I hoped will be as helpful to you as it was for me.…
