Assignment 3 Prepare the EFE matrix for KKD

Prepare the EFE matrix for Sturbucks

Compare KKD, Dunkin Doughnuts and Starbucks

STURBUCKS

DUNKIN DOUGHNUTS

What kind of nutrition is important?

The above chart compared calories. For some people, they want less fat or sugar. Usually the items that are lower in fat tend to be higher in sugar and carbohydrates (and vise versa). Some of these foods offer no other nutritional value like fiber and protein. You need to assess what you are most concerned with. If your goal is to eat less than you burn each day, calories is your bottom line.

As you can see, Starbucks is not necessarily healthier than D&D, despite strategic marketing. Of all the comparisons done, Starbucks only came out on top three times. You might think that a "smoothie" is better than a "coolatta" , but the facts state otherwise.

Menu Diversity between Dunkin and Sturbucks

Dunkin' is the winner simply because many of its Dunkin' Donut stores are also paired with Baskin-Robbins ice cream stores, since Dunkin' group also owns the Baskin-Robbins chain. But Starbucks' has improved its menu as of late, and it is reaching to an entirely demographic than ice cream and donuts.

So while Dunkin' may win on diversity of product because of Baskin-Robbins, Starbucks probably still has the most redeeming menu from a profitability and sustainability perspective.

COMPARING DUNKIN DONUTS AND KRISPY KREMES

1. Overall Customer Service

Dunkin Donuts – Honestly the staff at the Dunkin Donuts location always leaves a lot to be desired, the greetings do not exist, the appreciation for choosing them to do business with does not exist and most importantly the sense of urgency to resolve customer complaints does not exist either. This is based on interaction with at least five different Dunkin Donuts employees.

Even though, Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts has a very similarities in their menus and the way how they advertise their product by using the same media market to get them out to the public. As a customer, I will prefer Dunkin’ Donuts because those stores are in walking distance from my place of work and they have two DD in my town. There is no Starbucks in near my town. For example, during the summer I go to DD just to get a drink after a hot day and I will stay to use their free Wi-Fi that is available for everyone to use. Plus, they are known for having a high quality…

Dunkin' Donuts claims to be the world's largest coffee and baked goods chain, serving 2.7 million customers per day at approximately 8,800 stores in 31 countries which include approximately 6,400 Dunkin' Donuts locations throughout the USA. This figure compares with the 15,011 stores of coffee chain Starbucks, whose baked goods are usually prepared out of shop. Most Dunkin' Donuts stores are franchises. There are no Dunkin' Donuts stores anywhere in the state of California, and a notice on the company's web site states that franchises are not being offered in that state. No explanation is given as to why. Only 75 franchisees exist west of the Mississippi River, mostly in Arizona, Nevada and Texas.…

I chose to conduct my field research on Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks are more or less similar in the fact that they are both known for selling coffee along with other products. They both offer various types of coffee, iced and hot drinks, sandwiches, other food products available, and miscellaneous merchandise. Starbucks is more on the expensive side compared to Dunkin Donuts. Furthermore, Dunkin Donuts cup sizing is larger than Starbucks; in that at Dunkin Donuts the cup gives the customer more to drink for a lower price. It also appears that the Starbucks menu is more complex than that at Dunkin Donuts…

These problems include Krispy Kreme 's slow movement into international markets. Competitors such as Dunking Doughnuts are in the process of establishing markets in countries using a multi-domestic strategy. This could cause problems when Krispy Kreme inevitably moves into its international role. Krispy Kreme also ties up capital in inventory costs. Taking almost double the time of the industry average to turn over inventory wastes capital that could otherwise be used for store improvement or capital investments. The next threat faced by Krispy Kreme is its undiversified product line. While established restaurants use changes in product lines to attract new customers, Krispy Kreme has relied on it 's core product line…
