TRM 101
Mrs. Adah Ruth Aguasin
This paper is in reaction to what we have watched about the beauty of the Eastern Visayas and Northern Mindanao regions... Eastern Visayas encompasses the two large islands of Leyte and Samar, the province of Biliran and several minor islands. This region is the eastern boundary of the Philippines. Northern Mindanao is composed of four provinces: Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental and the island of Camiguin. It has 5 cities: Ozamis, Oroquieta, Tangub, Gingoog and Cagayan do Oro.
No word can best describe the natural beauty of Eastern Visayas, the region with numerous waterfalls and more than a hundred caves. A region rich in history, its shores in Leyte served as the landing point of well-loved General Douglas MacArthur, marking his promised return to the Philippines and the country’s liberation from Japanese rule.
Most of Mindanao's beautiful beaches are located to the south of the island, and this is the area that attracts most of Mindanao's tourists. However, there is still plenty of natural beauty to discover in Northern Mindanao such as jungles and sparkling waterfalls.
These wonders of our country must be promoted not only to foreigners but also to filipinos. These places are called the “not-so-visited spots” according to some internet websites. That’s why there is a website who calls the places of Eastern Visayas and Northern Mindanao as the hidden treasures. These hidden treasures must be discovered so that the regions will be able to share its beauty to others. Our government must give more financial assistance to the Department Of Tourism because Tourism Industry is one of the industries that is making our economy alive. As Filipinos, we should also take our initiatives to discover the beauty of these places. We should also be proud of our own country and help in promoting these places. Through this, we are helping not just ourselves, our own country but
