“TOUR”

Ara Camilla Ramirez
Intro to Hospitality Management
Ms. Loida Banzuelo

On August 3, the 1st year BSHM-CA students held an educational tour in different places of Manila and especially the main event of the tour is in the Fontana Resort, Clark Pampanga. The Educational tour started out as an escape from school for most of us students, bonding with friends, chance to unwind and of course, to learn new things and to gain knowledge at the same time that we may apply someday.
First, we went to the entertainment room of the Resort where we discussed about the events, places of Pampanga and also some psychologic facts. After we enter the entertainment room of the Resort, there’s a short briefings about history of Pampanga, the course we took. We also did some different kinds of entertainment like singing, dancing, having fun, and eating. I learned a lot and also it is really useful because it’s important that you know how having an educational tour begins, the history and evolution of Pampanga because other people didn’t know that and I can share what I learned and discovered. After the short visit to entertainment room of the Resort, we went straight to our second destination the area of the Resort, I found myself amazed and amused because the place is really relaxing and unwinding. After we arrived in our hotel rooms, we wait for about 30 minutes because there was a huge rain that day and it looked like a storm. So it’s our time to eat lunch, relax, taking pictures, nap and retouch. After that we go back to our assigned rooms and relax and had fun there. I found our tour very interesting because I felt the happiness in me but it’s also a challenge for us. That's all. Thank

Elizabeth Bishop’s “The Hanging of the Mouse”, places animals in the roles of humans in reference to an execution. The writer uses animals to replace humans to possibly convey a message or point of view towards the death penalty. In the story, the mouse is being executed for what we believe is some sort of crime. It isn’t clear whether or not the mouse actually committed a crime, but we are led to believe that an act occurred in which caused the mouse to be executed on this particular day.…

Approximately three hours from crowded, sweltering Manila is an island getaway where the seafood is fresh, the sand is dazzling white, the water is a beautiful clear turquoise, and good vibes abound. It is a getaway for adventurers of the 'strike anywhere' variety, who think nothing of hopping on a bus on a whim, armed with nothing but a swimsuit and a pair of flip-flops. It is a refuge for the low-key urbanite escaping the frenzied crowd at Manila's latest 'in' spots (the same crowd that currently overpopulates Boracay). It is my paradise on the cheap--Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.…

Good morning, respected Principal Ma’am, worthy teachers and my dear friends. Today I would like to present my views on the topic ‘The Concept of fun filled Vacation Has Changed.’ It has been rightly said by Earl Wilson that ‘A vacation is what you take when you can no longer take what you have been taking.’ The word vacation brings a smile, arousing a feeling of happiness looking forward to a break from the mundane routine in one’s life. The concept of fun filled vacation has definitely changed with the passage of time. The magic word is holidays and the glee on the children’s face is unmistakable. Vacations once meant freedom – that freedom was celebrated with all round destructions of ink pots, pen and stationary. Not only did the youth enjoy the vacations but the adults look forward to it. In these changing times the concept of vacations has undergone a silent transformation. Vacation has taken a new definition, it no longer means rejuvenating with relatives and extended families but a corporate style holiday at a five star hotel equipped with a swimming pool, a club etc. people these days prefer to take only their family members to the destination as it is a costly affair. People love to play on laptops, work on social networking sites or be in touch with their offices via email instead of exploring nature and enjoying outdoor activities. Nevertheless people do enjoy their vacations although the concept has under gone a change. For children the lazy holidays seems to be out, while a break from school is needed, students are still encouraged to continue their education during the vacations. The students are once again put on a tight frame. There is work to done and trainings to undergo in the form of holiday homework. This new modern trend of vacations has just become another routine, with learning and training going hand in hand. Now few can watch T.V till midnight and wake up to a lazy breakfast. If children are…

The fear of failure can affect our lives in many ways. I scored a 24 on the Fear of Failure test. According to McGee, experiences of failure dominate your memory and have probably resulted in a great deal of depression (McGee, 1998). The result of this test was a shock to me because I do not feel that I deal with depression. I went back and read the questions again and did not get a different result. McGee lets us know that deep healing needs to take place. I started to think back as to why I answered the questions to the test the way that I did. I realized that I because I fear, I often avoid participating in certain activities. I don’t put myself in the position to fail. I do fear failure when it comes to my family. As a mother, I want everything to be perfect for my family. I believe that I experience more anger than depression. This may be wrong but I feel that my purpose in life is to make my family’s life as easy as possible. I feel that if something is not going right in their lives, it’s probably my fault and I’m not doing what I’m supposed to do. Therefore, I worry a lot. I take pride in motherhood. When my kids…
