I began to read more at home and at school. I remained calm and relaxed when I read more because I read books that sparked my interest. So, as I grew older and entered my freshman year of high school, I transitioned from reading PG-13 books to rated R books. Altogether, I started to read books that were more vicious and sexual, no longer read books in the school library, and began to buy books from Walmart. In fact, reading is fundamental because reading builds character. Reading can build character as far as understanding, reflecting and analyzing text, memorizing the story and the sequence of event, while broadening one’s education. Reading also builds character by enhancing communication and listening skills. Another fundamental aspect of reading is finding an interest in the subject. Most individuals may agree with this statement: “One mostly read books and stories of their interest,” and if the statement is evaluated, most individuals may not read nor enjoy a book that they are uninterested in.
