Reading Comprehension Difficulty in English Subject is one of the problems encountered by the grade 5 pupils in Balnasan Elementary School, which is the problem chosen by the researcher to be given some solution. It was shown that before letting the pupils to read some stories, articles, poems, etc…, the knowledge imparter (teacher) must identify first and give the meaning of the unlocking or unfamiliar words to the learners. Moreover, this may be done through group discussion, by giving everyone a chance to look for the meaning of the words by their selves in their own way.
This study was conducted to determine and to find solution to the problem of the grade 5 pupils if Balnasan Elementary School with regards to their reading comprehension difficulty. Observation and informal interview was the instrument used by the researcher in finding some solution to the said problem.
i Based on the findings of the study, the researcher come up to the following recommendation: teaching reading lesson, for the pupils comprehend the lesson easily, the teacher must define first the unfamiliar words to the pupils; the teacher must assist the pupils whenever the pupils encountered hardness in their understanding what they read; the teacher must used different strategies and methodologies in teaching reading to make learning process more lively, fun and enjoyable; and the classroom environment must always be in good condition because its add to the learning of the pupils.
