Reading: Mind and American Thriller Fiction
I think reading is the most beneficial activities which human beings can do. Through the reading one can understand the enviroment which surrounds him, can discover inventions and can explain the miracle’s of the world. Many readings help you to be smarter. As proverb goes “Reading makes a full man, meditation a profoundmMan, discourse a clear man”. Reading is not just only information it is also relaxing. As Ricarde Steele said:”Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body”. Is it really so?I think it is and in the following paragraphs I will give my points of views.
I used to read books from my childhood, and it was habit for me at that time.At that time there was not an internet, computers and the main electricity due to electricity fact we could not watch TV so much in the south part of our country. Books were really too beneficial for me. They improved my ability to think and changed my outlook to the world. From each book I learned something new and tried to apply to my daily life. Every book brought with itself much information, smartness, and wiseness. Teachers could easily see difference between pupils who read books and who did not. Pupils who read more books were more creative and smarter than those who did not read them.
When I read art books I isolate myself from surrounding world. Reading brings me relaxation, I forget my problems and stresses, just focus on events and heroes of the book, use my imagination to create heroes’ faces and the details of the places which mentioned in the book. While reading I am a traveller, a doctor, a policeman, a king, a lover and so on. Impressions, excitement and thinking do not leave me after reading for a long time. That is why I can easily highlight that depending on imagination and describing of author, reading may influences even to the dreams, to the outlook and life style of the readers. For instance I do have many acquaintances who became atheist after reading Dan Brown- an american thriller fiction author’s books.
I want also to mention that below above mentioned reading is also exercise for brain, it makes to mind to think hard, improve and enrich our thinking, One can not be wise without books, the majority of scientists are great readers. For instance, though we can not imagine our lives without new technology, without reading and understanding the scinece of physics people could not invent TV, computer or internet. As reading improves the way of thinking, it also helps to create new invention. For example, Dmitri Mendeleev dreamed his invention of periodic table of chemical elements. The more he read the more he thought and as he thought everytime he even dreamed about it.

Reading can only make you a more intelligent person on what is happening around you, and around the world. Each individual has their own literacy journey that is unique to themselves. No one can have the same literacy journey as others, literacy journeys are like fingerprints, no matter how close an individual will be with one another, they will have different fingerprints. I believe, that the introduction to reading at an early age in a person's literacy journey, alters and makes a person who they are later in life.…

As a young child, I was always aware of books and the difference between books for children and books for adults. I would not say that I grew up in a family of devout readers, but I did grow up in a family of individuals who appreciated the value of books. Although my parents never seemed to have time to simply sit and read frequently, my mother had engaged with college-level texts in her adulthood, and both of my parents saw the benefit of exposing my sister and me to books at an early age. There was always a bookshelf in my house packed full of textbooks and enormous tomes with dusty, creased spines. We also had a full set of the Encyclopedia Britannica (which I recently found out is going out of print). It would be an exaggeration to say that these books intrigued me because they represented knowledge. However, they intrigued me because although they sat there and collected dust for years, my mother refused to throw them away. It was impressed upon me very early on that books were important, and that throwing them away was wrong. I did not get it completely at that point, especially because those books were incomprehensible to a four or five year old, but I understood that it was something that would be important when I was older.…

    Neil Gaiman Analysis

Neil Gaiman supports the thesis that the habit of reading is important to the development, the creativity of the people, and it is essential to innovate and invent, as he said “Fiction can show you a different world. It can take you somewhere you’ve never been. Once you’ve visited other worlds, like those who ate fairy fruit, you can never be entirely content with the world that you grew up in. Discontent is a good thing: discontented people can modify and improve their worlds, leave them better, leave them different” (Gaiman, 2013, p. 1). I agree with his point of view because I always believed that reading to get more information and knowledge is fundamentally to…

“The more that you read, the more things you know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go,” wrote Dr. Seuss. Reading has at all times and in all ages been a source of knowledge, of happiness, of pleasure, and even moral courage. My stories have provided a personal library for me to remember everything I learn, experience, and encounter in my life, and how to overcome some obstacles. Through the years I have found that no matter what I read, the act of reading every day has helped me in nearly every aspect of my life.…

When I was younger I didn’t really know what I should do which almost caused me to think that every day of my life I was having anxiety because I had no direction. I started to read almost every single day which brought out a side of myself which wasn’t afraid to settle down and realize that there’s more to life then to always be doing something. Reading also brought the world to my attention and different career paths I could go in life whether I wanted to be like Santiago and live my life at sea, or if after reading Still Alice I would want to be a surgeon trying to cure diseases like Alzheimer’s. Every time that a new book was in my hands I would only imagine the path it would take me throughout my life. Reading brings out the true you and that’s something that no one can take…

It shows that avid readers are better at writing and concentrating and have an easier time processing new information. Those who read also have a more fulfilling life, are more open to new ideas and can develop an ability to understand how people think and feel. Being able to read well depends on how much a person reads – the more, the better. This is beneficial for a successful career and for a more satisfying life. According to Jim Trelease, "The more you read, the better you get at it; the better you get at it, the more you like it; the more you like it, the more you do it.
