Directions: You will be writing a persuasive essay to a School Board that does not believe in biological evolution, and will not allow it to be taught in schools. Persuasive essays are used to convince an audience of your position using evidence. In your essay you will be using the evidence you collected (Evidence of Evolution Graphic Organizer) to support your position that evolution is an acceptable scientific theory, and that it should be taught in schools.…
When asked to provide circumstances beyond my control, as well as, adverse satiations that negatively impacted my successful academic progress or issues directly responsible for failure. I am not able to provide negative documentation; I have completed my schooling successfully and I currently use all my certificates. My goal for the future is to have the opportunity to further my education and I want to reach higher attainment as a business owner. I have benefited greatly and I continually enjoy working in the field of cosmetology. However, I have two withdraws on my record for A&P 1. I did not pass the first or second attempt. I changed my program from Register Nurse to Health Unit Coordinator (HUC). The second withdraw is College Success. My grade point average is 2.6 and I plan to do better…
Richard III is an historical play written by William Shakespeare during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, depicting the contentious rise to power of King Richard III of England and his short reign as King. Richard III is the final play in a cycle of eight plays written by Shakespeare dramatizing English history from 1398 to 1485. The theme of villainy is intricately explored throughout the play as one of its main themes. Shakespeare effectively explores the theme of villainy through the use of dramatic techniques such as character soliloquies and literary techniques such as symbolism. These techniques enable Shakespeare’s ideas of villainy to be developed and explored, which…
My drop in grades has recently been due to the fact that I have struggled with finding the appropriate study technique to progress academically with the nursing program course work. As a first year nursing student, I am progressively adapting and finding my pace throughout the program. I am after all a work in progress, and despite the fact of having been an "A" student in the past, I know that the nursing school is a totally different process and I have come to the realization that it's okay to be a "C" student and I am now beyond proud of it.…
Picture yourself seventeen-years-old, ready to take on the world after you graduate high school. But, there is a slight dilemma, you have over four F’s on your transcript. This means that you will not graduate, won’t walk at graduation, and will have to repeat those classes to graduate. This is the reality for nine of the students of the graduating class of 2016 at Horseshoe Bend High School. This problem affects the students, the teachers, the school, and the community as a whole.…
The reason why my GPA is low was because of my life conditions. At the time of my school education about half way in it, I was having issues in my marriage that later it lead to a divorce that dreaded on awhile and because of that, I also had a hard time to keep up with my bills, which caused me to be severe depressed, sad, and anxious. Which also caused a decrease in attention/focus on my education in school. I really had a hard time to get back into my books and to stay focus in school. If it wasn't for the support from Brown Mackie College Professors to understand my situation, and to help me stay focus I would have never been able to complete my education at Brown Mackie.…
At the beginning of the school year, I was given the opportunity to make one of my dreams a reality-returning to school. When I attempted to register for my classes online and couldn’t, I panicked. Not knowing why, I scheduled an appointment to talk to a counselor. I learned I was on academic dismissal and had to complete an array of tasks to continue to be a Santa Rosa Junior College student. There are several positive ways that I overcame the trauma of academic dismissal.…
I sent letters of apologies as well as verbal apologies to those impacted by my actions. Maybe my expectations were too high but the responses I received seemed uncaring and non-supportive. Meaning, I need to have enough self-discipline to keep a school schedule and balance my studies with my job and my personal life. Doing my schooling online has been a really big change mostly because now I must teach myself. It is a lot different than sitting in a classroom all day and I find myself much more distracted. I also at times feel like this program is not as rewarding because it is a pass or fail course. I still don’t know how this will affect my GPA or my chances of getting into college. On the other hand, I enjoy this program because I feel like I can work at my own pace and doing one chapter at a time allows me to actually understand the topic and retain the…
For my final grade argument I am asking to change my F to a C. The reason for my low grade in class was due to a technical error on Canvas. It may sound like a stretch to ask for a two letter grade increase but I made it to class almost every day, payed attention in class, and I turned in all work I possibly could.…
I did my best to keep up with academics, duties, and avoided getting into trouble. At the end of the semester, my team leader and I both received a military grade of A. However, second semester took a turn for the worse. The change of command, gray period and a myriad of other troubles tested my resolve to stay at the academy. Aside from my new team leader, I did not get along well with my new chain of command. As a result, my relationship with the company greatly declined and although I was taking fewer courses, my grades declined as well. Academically deficient and apathetic, I was at risk of failing out of the academy.…
When a student misses his/her second unexcused absence their final grade will automatically drop a full letter grade.…
Fifth grade was the year when I experienced failure. I had spent one whole year in Mexico, my four grade year. After I completed fourth grade I came back to the United States of America specifically Dallas Texas. I knew that fifth grade year would be a complex year due to the fact I no longer had a clear comprehension of the English language furthermore know how to write it. Speaking English now seemed quite arduous to me. For example, I would attempt to talk to a person in English and sometimes that person would look at with uncertainty of what I was trying to communicate with them. I would also have troublesome searching for the precise word in my head to say. Once I entered school in Dallas Texas my first day was full of complete confusion…
Whenever a student is faced with a difficult or challenging course, you either make the decision to fail the class and hurt you’re your grade point average (GPA), or you withdraw from the course. Dropping a class could lower your eligibility for financial aid as well as loans. Currently, the majority of colleges charge tuition for courses a student repeats, and tuition will not be reimbursed for a dropped or failed class. If tuition is made free, more students will abuse the…
