RECOLLECTION
The day we had the recollection was really a perfect day for us to unwind, relax, get stressed free, detoxify our mind and feel God’s presence. It was only a week after the midterm examination. Recollection was like a cleansing bathe on every soul. Sacred Heart at Catalunan Grande, Davao City was the perfect place for this kind of recreation because of its breath taking scenery of the nature. Also, all of us had a great time to enjoy the recollection. I’ve learned so many things in the one day of staying. I’ve learned a lot in the recollection and it reflects the way I am communicating to God. We really appreciate our mentor in our recollection. We get to get to know more about ourselves and every time we had this kind of event, there are revelations about myself that I really didn’t know about. And, it’s a good thing to know. And most importantly, we get to talk to God, to adore Him, praise Him, worship Him and get connected to Him. It’s a very nice feeling to express yourself to others who are in turn open to you. It was so heart whelming experience. We learned about the real meaning of love, care, prayer, and Silence, forgiveness and learn to turn to God to have faith in Him. I have classmates who have a fight and forgave each other through that day. In short, we became relaxed and had fun.

Confessing the painful memories and exposing the root cause will bring healing physically and psychologically. The author gives examples of people who had painful memories, but found healing when they were shared with Christ. Christ is the focus, not the painful memories. That day I awoke early for make makeup and hair to be done, then quickly rode off in my limo for the day to church. The mass went well but once it was over my court and I headed to the reception hall. Once there, I noticed nearly five hundred people, friends and family from all over California and the U.S. Then once it was time for the father daughter dance, instead of cherishing that moment we talked about minor party details. By 12am once the party was over and everything was getting cleaned up I felt relieved that the day had finally concluded. However, just like I explained how my quinceañeras unfolded was how it actually was, event after even and I never felt the spark I had imagined as a child. For a slight moment I felt like a princess but not like I believed it would entirely…

I never thought me, of all people, would experience such a sorrowful day. I have tried to forget it time and time again; but the reality is I will always remember every miniscule detail, moment, word, and facial expression on that particular day. My heart managed to shatter into a million pieces, leaving me without a reason to pursue my existence. My salty tears freely rolled down my warm cheeks, causing my eyes to burn sensationally. I remember mourning on the comforting shoulders of my family members, as they too were consumed by their feelings. The most valuable lesson that beared a reservation in my spirit was to cherish every moment and loved one, for tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone. I wish I could have fathom this reality before the climactic tragedy struck me like a ton of bricks. Although death is normal, it seemed almost foreign when it abducted the life of my favorite uncle.…

Which was where we talked about Christ and the Bible, and listened to the different stories from the kids, and everything that they had been through. Introducing them to a man that could change them and their lives for ever was amazing because they asked so many questions and some of them weren’t as positive as others, because they didn’t believe in him but in most situations the kids had never even heard of someone named God, and being the person to introduce him to them was amazing and incredible. Even at the young age that I was at I still was able to impact their lives and it was the best feeling a girl at my age could receive. Still to this day I will always remember the impact those young kids had on the outlook on my life and the way that I was able to comfort them, and be the one that they talked to. Returning home was nice, but I will always remember George and his family and the other kids that I met that week, and that will forever change my life and how I see things now in a positive way. , and from a different…

What really caught my eye were the three Buddha statues where we were going to have the service. The statues looked like they were made of gold but I just thinking it was the lighting. As I entered I felt a sense of calmness it was very different than a Christian church. In a Christian church I always felt tense or felt uneasy because of all the people jumping around singing songs like some type of indigenous tribes. On the other hand going to a catholic church always made me feel guilty or depressed. Being in this temple was different I actually felt welcomed while everyone was calm and collected and not bouncing off the walls. As we entered the area where they have the service we had to sit down on these cushions and after a little bit of talking they started the meditation. We repeated nam-myoho-renge-kyo over and over with a little bit of different words mixed in during the meditation. While doing it I was constantly feeling this sense of euphoria it felt like I was in a trace with everyone joining in. honestly, it felt weird because I never had a sensation like that before and just like that it was over. An hour passed and I didn’t even notice my legs were cramped but my body felt like it was floating, I actually thought I did some black magic or something but everyone was a cheerful mood. We didn’t stay long after the service was finished but one thing I…

As I do not practice any religion, I thought that for the religious experience project, I would write about my observations as my sister rekindles her faith and practice in Roman Catholicism. My sister and I were both raised Catholic by our parents and both attended Sunday school where our grandmother was our teacher. However, after our parents divorced about 17 years ago, we both strayed away from our faith. I went on to keep an open mind and learn of other religions but never found my fit. My sister has recently started to return to Catholicism, expressing her desire to have her child baptized someday. For this paper, I asked if I could accompany her to mass for the first time in 17 years at our childhood church, St. Cecilia Catholic Church…

Virtue and knowledge can only be learned through one’s self and not through others. Man’s experiences while on earth are very important moments that aid him in obtaining recollection. Both of these statements take part in Plato’s doctrine of recollection. To put it into simpler terms, Plato’s doctrine of recollection goes something along the lines of “how learning is possible.” Plato believed that there was an endless amount of possibilities in another realm.…

Looking back on the course as a whole, I have learned how to effectively analyze my audience and distinguish and adapt my writing for that audience. I learned different ways to make technical documents look appealing to readers while also using graphics ad white space to effectively show the words of the documents. I learned how to work better in a team setting as well as improved my individual writing. My sentence structure and effectiveness has definitely improved over the semester as well. My thoughts about technical writing and technical documents wasn't changed much except for how much thought needs to be put into who the audience is and how to write specifically to that audience. Learning how to write memos effectively and just the general format for them will help me in the workplace. The help I received on my resume and cover letter during the course will help me tremendously getting into the workplace.…

Reminiscing the past is one great way to rest ourselves. A great example for this is visiting a famous tourist spot in Intramuros, the Fort Santiago. It is known as a relaxing place where one can really feel what happened in the past for it is where kingdom of Rajah Suliman, chieftain of Manila of pre-Spanish era, once located; it’s reconstruction for Spanish conquistador by Miguel López de Legazpi; and the fortress where Rizal was imprisoned.…
