Recreational Marijuan A Case Study
Recently Colorado has adopted the legalization of recreational marijuana. The uses of marijuana have posed a real dilemma for nurses, due to this new change nurses had to think differently about how they treat these patients. For years’ medical marijuana have been used to help alleviate patients with cancer pain. Nurses have to change their attitude toward caring for who use marijuana for non-therapeutic purposes. The nursing profession has always valued integrity and diversity (Scriber,
2014). Therefore, regardless of personal views nurses have an obligation to educate patients on the risk and benefits associated with the use of marijuana.
