Jockamo Upper Crust Pizza is my favorite place to eat because they have great food, staff, and locations. My favorite pizza to get was from Papa Johns, but I could never find a place to sit down and eat that had good pizza. Jockamo Upper Crust Pizza opened and my family and I decided to try it one night. I had ordered a pizza called the Slaughterhouse 5. It had pepperoni, sausage, ham, Italian beef, mozzarella cheese, and bacon. That pizza is now my favorite pizza and I have not been able to find a place as good as Jockamo Upper Crust Pizza. Many people have written reviews on Jockamo Upper Crust Pizza most are 5 stars but some are less. The ones with less stars were because of little things. Some rated lower because the place was packed and it took them awhile to get seating and there were kids in the bathroom so they had to wait to wash their hands.…

    California Pizza Kitchen

In July of 2007, California Pizza Kitchen (CPK), a casual dining pizzeria started in California by co-owners Rick Rosenfield and Larry Flax, was faced with the decision to invest in a stock repurchase program. Led by Chief Financial Officer Susan Collyns, the financial team of CPK was reviewing the preliminary results for the second quarter to determine if the stock repurchase program would provide a significant financial leverage for the company. The goal was to determine if the company can maintain the necessary financial stability to meet the expected growth trajectory for 2008 while utilizing debt financing for the buyback program. Having started the company using the original funding from the initial public offering in 2000, the co-owners were able to have zero debt financing on the balance sheets while maintaining a substantial borrowing capacity of $75 million with an interest rate of 6.16%. With the recent 10% stock decline, the timing to roll out a stock buyback program would be questionable, however it would reduce the corporate income-tax liability, which was previously $10 million in 2006, and would allow for a debt tax shield. Utilizing the CPK financial statements from 2003-2007, recommendations will be provided to determine the best recapitalization approach for the buyback program.…

California Pizza Kitchen is known worldwide for its high quality menu and ingredients, with budget friendly prices. They collect their revenues from three different sources. Sales from company owned restaurants, royalties from franchised restaurants and royalties from a partnership with Kraft to sell CPK branded frozen pizza in grocery stores. CPK has a "dedication to guest satisfaction and menu innovation and sustainable culture of service." CPK has the lowest average bill cost of any other casual dining restaurant, of $13.30 per guest. Their menu has very few choices, but the choices that are offered are of high quality and nothing less. Their goal is to extend their franchises to Mexico and South Korea in the coming years being as in the last five years they were capable of increasing total businesses up 38% so a small extension would be of no issue for them. In 1997 they also introduced the idea of an ASAP option. The ASAP options offers guests the most popular items on the menu, pre-made and ready to grab and go. With society becoming more and more fast paced, the ASAP option has been growing steadily.…

What is an abortion? According to the Merriam Webster dictionary it is “A medical procedure used to end a pregnancy and cause the death of the fetus” (Merriam Webster, 2016). Every year, approximately 1.2 million women have an abortion in the United States and nearly 42 million women have an abortion every year worldwide. There are two types of abortions an individual can do, either medical abortion or surgical abortion. Medical abortion relies on medicine and is primarily used on pregnancies up to nine weeks. In contrast, surgical abortion can be done for pregnancies from six weeks, all the way up to sixteen weeks. Surgical abortion greatly varies by states as some states of stricter abortion laws than others. For example, abortions in Texas can be terminated up to twenty weeks, while in Arkansas abortions can be terminated up to six weeks. In the United States 47% of unintended pregnancies leads to abortions, this number can lower if women were actively use birth control, however, there is a number of women who have no control and…

Once upon a time there was a lady. She was a coloured lady, in a red jacket. The jacket probably came from a thrift store, because it wasn’t a very fancy jacket. The lady though, is the focal point of my story, more so than the jacket. This is my thesis statement. See, the lady was afraid of cameras. The flashes caused her pupils to dilate, her head to twitch, and her mind to explode… Well, the last one’s false, but it sounded like a decent additive to the story. So anyways, one day, which I nicknamed Fateful Tuesday, she was taking a stroll through the park. But this time, it wasn’t just any leisurely stroll. Suddenly she was abducted by Keanu Reeves. Keanu Reeves abducted her, because he was feeling sad and lonely while sitting by himself on a bench in the park. He didn’t actually intend on abducting her though. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her over to the bench for some company. She didn’t like that though. In fact, she hated it. She hated it so much; she kicked and screamed, then proceeded to take out her rape whistle. She blew into it quite hard, actually. If you were there, you’d understand how hard I’m talking about. Anyhoo, this caught the attention of the police, which then came over to thwart Keanu’s plans, whatever they were. At that very moment, right before Discher apprehended him, Mr. Reeves took it upon himself to football tackle Ms. Redjacketfromathriftstore, and run off. He took her to his limo, still parked outside. Shouting “Go, go, go!”, the limo pulled off in haste, leaving Discher in the dust. Driving for a few hours, they arrived at Keanu’s place in New Jersey. Apparently, New Jersey has no left turns, but I think that’s false. Mr. Reeves asked his driver to play the theme song from the telly show ‘The Sopranos’ while driving over the Commodore Barry Bridge, and put his arm around Ms. Redjacketfromathriftstore. She didn’t quite like that, honestly, I was there. He offered her a drink, still humming the ‘Sopranos’…

The case we studied this time is CPK, which is a restaurant with creative menu, high quality of foods, nice dinning environment, good dinning atmosphere, convenient traffic location and etc. The case discussion this time was more focused on the numerical data instead of strategy analysis. Although it’s not so easy for me to catch up with all information that the present group show, I think it’s really interesting. The main problem we need to discuss is how to raise the declining CPK stock price which happened in 2007. There were several reasons that caused the price declining. One is the rising cost of everything, and second one is too many stock shares outstanding. As we can see from the Exhibit6, the stock price of CPK was almost higher than the average all the time. So maybe we can infer that the declining CPK price was not only caused by CPK itself, but also affected by the bad economy condition. Because there was no enough internal cash for CPK to repurchase outstanding shares, they needed to decide which leverage borrowing debt was the best choice. After calculating 10%, 20% and 30% D/A ratio with market value, we found them only about 3%, 5% and 10%. In other word, although CPK is afraid of the high risk that brought from high leverage, it’s useless for them once the repurchase didn’t work. In my opinion, CPK should choose the highest leverage which within the same rating range.…
