The Red Hot Chili Peppers are an american rock band that started in los angeles california. There was originally lead singer Anthony Kiedis, guitarist Hillel Slovak, bassist Flea, and drummer Jack Irons, They all met in high school at Fairfax high school in los angeles. They were signed to enigma records in december 1983, but 2 weeks earlier Irons and slovak had signed with MCA with the band What is this so they quit Red Hot Chili Peppers to pursue things with What is this so flea and Kiedis recruited two new members to the band Cliff Martinez to replace irons and Jack sherman to be replace Slovak. Slovak performed on the second and third albums by the band Freaky Styley in 1985 and The Uplift Mofo Party Plan in 1987), but he died from a heroin overdose in 1988. As a result of his friend's death, Irons chose to depart from the group as drummer. After two guitarist the group finally landed on one, Dave Navarro.
