If a test like the one that Dr. Goldstein spoke about had existed then or was known at the time, maybe it could have slowed or prevented Alzheimer’s from taking over my grandmother’s life. Seeing someone go through complete loss of memory is one of the saddest things I have ever had to experience. My grandmother did not recognize my grandfather, her children, or her grandchildren. She was scared all of the time and would even try to run away from her house. It got so bad that they just had her in a hospital bed at my grandfather’s house, attached to IV’s and whatever medicine it was that they were giving her, so she could pass away with
