Reflection summary
Our last class was very interesting and informative. We discussed many things. We discussed things like buying a computer and programs to use on our computer. We also discussed technology systems and ways that they are changing.
We first learned about buying a computer. It was very helpful because whenever you go to purchase a computer the salesman will tell you things they want you to buy and not what the best product is. When buying a computer we now know that HP, Mac, Lenovo are good computers. I know to ask for quad core (4 CPUs), and also that I should not purchase computers with less than 8GB of memory. We also learned different antivirus programs that will work best for your computer and where to go to get this information for free. We were told Avast is a great antivirus program to use, and it is free to download and use. We were told that there are many popular antivirus programs on the market but some work better than others.
We also learned about different information systems. We watched a video about the development in technology and how it is changing daily. If we look back on technology maybe 10 yrs ago it was not at all as advanced as it is now. It could be applicable to our personal lives because I can help someone in our families make a good choice when buying a computer. My knowledge of computers has increased from last class because I am more confident with purchasing a computer. I feel that I can make a more educated decision based on the new information.
Last, we learned about ethical issues related information technology such as violation of privacy and fraud when data is transmitted over networks. This knowledge made us aware of how cautious we should be when dealing with un-trusted sites, SPAM, Malware,
