Tragedy of the Commons Reflection
Jason
The common I found in school is the nature gas which was in the canteen. It is the major form of energy that we use everyday. At most of time, people use nature gas as fuel when they were cooking and also in the hybrid vehicle. It is much cleaner than the oil and coal, but it still produce lots of carbon dioxide while it burning. Therefore, we need to save it, and use it sparingly.
This photo was taken in the dining room where is located in the kitchen. It was mostly used in the cooking by human beings. In my life, the stove in my home is just burned by nature gas because it was cheap and easy to keep. However, this is one kind of non-renewable resources which belongs a type of fossil fuel. It was lied on the deep underground just similar with oil. Therefore, we need to protect it. In my opinion, I think that to reduce eating meat diets is one of the good way to protect this kind of commons because cooking meat is always need more energy than the vegetables. Moreover, for myself, I would like to to some of my life-style to save this natural resource which is natural gas. For example, I would like to have less meat diets so that it would cost less energy. Furthermore, I am willing to have more boiled food than fired food because it also use less heat to make food cooked. The reason why I do this is because the carbon dioxide from natural gas are causing the global warming, and to protect the environment is just protecting ourselves.

These sources of energy are used to generate power for both commercial and personal use in a number of different ways. “In 2005, more than 3/4 of total world energy consumption was through the use of fossil fuels.” (Environmental Literacy Council, 2008) Oil, the leading energy resource depended upon to fuel everyday functions produces 43.4 % of our world’s energy. Natural Gas, the second most relied upon resource produces 15.6 % of the world’s energy followed by coal, which produces 8.3 % of the world’s energy. Unsurprisingly, North America is the number one consumer of nonrenewable energy resources, consuming approximately 25 % of the fossil fuels extracted from the earth. Before transferring to Georgian Court University, I had already attended two other colleges. I lived in a dorm my freshmen year at Ramapo and decided that was not for me. After leaving Ramapo, I decided to take a few semesters at Brookdale Community College in order to fulfill some requirements while deciding where exactly was the right place for myself to continue with my education. After searching through many brochures and getting first hand details about schools from people I am acquainted with, I was overcome with joy when I found Georgian Court. Since I am double majoring in both English and Education, it is hard to find schools that offer the two as a pair as well as offer the special endorsement for teaching students with disabilities. Georgian Court is also one of the top teaching schools, with a very high rate of job placement after graduation, which was another thing that captivated me. The economy is very unpredictable at this point in time and it is only plausible to choose the very best school to go to that is well known for the extraordinary practices in the field of study you want to pursue. Here at Georgian Court I have found everything I have been looking for.…
