Indeed, this book talks about how Adam created his organization and the struggles he went through but for me that wasn’t the main point of the book. The message that I identified with that staying on track with your goals will help make a dream become a reality. I relate …show more content…
I realized that I was getting dragged away from my dreams by some guy who didn’t have my best interest in his mind. After that relationship ended, I got back to my goals and I started to succeed my senior year. My senior year I ranked in the top ten percentage at Poinciana High school, earned the position of Band President at the school and I got accepted in National Honor Society. Also, I got accepted to four out of the five universities/colleges I applied too and graduated with one cord, one stole and four medals. This is where I started to relate to Adam because he had some mishaps that took him off the track of his goals like working at Bain which made him do a bad job at work and a good job at raising money to open schools. But after he quit his job at Bain and got on track with Pencils of Promise, he started to raise a lot more money for the schools to open and getting the …show more content…
I figured out what I want to do with my education which took more than four years to figure out because high school was a time where you can try any art, sport, STEM, and career academic courses without having to pay for it so I wanted to get to know how each course went to find the one I found that fit me and I took this class called Media Literature where we got to figure how certain were portrayed on TV shows, movies and advertisement. The class made me realize that if I could work in the communication branch that I could control a lot of the portrayal on TV, news and social networking. Now with my transition to FIU, I can take the right classes and find interesting and useful internships to get to my goal to be in Advertisement to help change the perception of certain groups in the US. But I must put the effort into that path because it may be open but I could let my time management and getting easily distracted get me of my track. Adam could have let his finance issues get him off his track to accomplish his goal but instead he found a way to manage his finance that he had enough to survive and keep his organization afloat. Meaning that I need to find ways that will benefit me with the issues I’m going through so they will not block my way to my main goal. So, I can
