Reflection On Coming To America
Coming to America from Ethiopia at a young age caused me to become a hybrid of two different, culture and language. This mixture gives me the ability to read lots of books and know more about American history and government system. I really enjoy my English and AVID class because every time I go there I learn something different and I can easily share my idea over different kind of books.
I read “A hyphenated America” it was an article about Noad who is Japanese- American that her life experience has some connection with my life. In the article Noad felt stereotype of her own minority, this is how felt when I was in ninth grade, I felt that my self-concept and my self esteem affect how I think understand and perceive myself.
