Since ethical principles tend to conflict with cases like bullying such as hearing of a bullying occurrence or concern from a student and contemplating whether or not to report, the group leader will keep all information shared confidential unless disclosure is required. In a situation where the bully poses a threat to the life of the victim, a report will be made. The leader will also discuss with the school principal about her role as a group leader (social worker) as well as the obligation to her group members in regards to privacy and confidentiality. This will enable the principal (school) and the group leader to have a common ground on the limitations on what to report in respects to the group. This student was there both times I visited. The boys name is Kenneth. Kenneth did not come to the program with a fancy school uniform like john, he wore regular clothes and had a few stains on his shirt. He was not as high energy as john yet still had a social circle of students he hung out with. Kenneth is also 5 years old but seemed kind of withdrawn from the environment. When I visited the first time Kenneth was the first student I paid attention to because he seemed kind of odd out of the group. Coming to find out Kenneth has and older sister that attends the Y also and is 3 years older than him. He is in a different class than his sister In not sure why. His sister is pretty active and runs and plays with things around the center but is very much involved in group activities she has 2 friends of which she spends the most time with. The previous week in my practicum placement has been very rewarding. I have been able to start the fixed interval reinforcement schedule with my student. The increase in attentive listening skills during instruction over the last three weeks has resulted in increased learning. Discrete Trial Training (DTT) has been used with the student to teach colors and letter names, and the reinforcement used after each trail has been verbal praise. The student has struggled to learn colors and letters with traditional instruction, so DTT was used to break the skill into smaller parts giving opportunities for repeated practice. Even though Ellen spends many hours away from home, she feels justified in the aspect her boy friend is a lawyer and spends many hours away from home as well. Ellen has a student in her class that seems to have a hard time with her math skills, and Ellen assists her after school, with tutoring her with math. Ellen at first enjoys this, and knows that Abbey is new to the area and has no friends, so she engages personal information with Abbey, which causes a relationship that has passed the guidelines of teacher and student.
