Since being around and working with animals is my passion, I chose to volunteer my time at Gulf Coast Humane Society. “Gulf Coast Humane Society is a not-for-profit, no-kill, animal sanctuary organization” (Gulf Coast Hume Society). Gulf Coast Humane Society offers homeless/stray, abandoned, or surrendered cats and dogs a second chance and the opportunity to find their forever home in a safe, clean and loving environment.
Like any not-for-profit organization, funding creates some challenges. Even with all of the donations they receive from the community and the amount of volunteers they have, they are still in need of more. The biggest issue they face is getting word out about their cause. “Gulf Coast Humane Society does not receive any federal, state, or county funding. They also don’t receive any funding from other animal rescue organizations like the ASPCA or the Humane Society of the United States. It helps them to feel more good while experiencing new things, creatures, individuals and encounters. Socialization is particularly vital amid puppyhood with the first basic socialization time as eight-twelve weeks of age. Socialized pups are commonly more content, friendlier, more unsurprising and ready to handle stretch better. Under-mingled pups frequently develop to end up dreadful, bashful, on edge, and now and then even frightfully forceful grown-up puppies in light of the fact that they do not have the right stuff to adapt to new
