To begin, my favorite scene in this movie is when they have to give the grandpa sleeping medicine to calm him down because he would not leave. He reminds me of my grandparents when they did not want to leave their house that they lived and raised their kids for fifteen years. Even though my grandparents got their house back the family in the movie had to go because they were in the dust bowl and they had to leave because if they didn’t they would get killed. It reflects when people were losing their houses and they couldn’t afford to keep them or sometimes leave them behind because that’s all they had and that’s how they got their money, shelter, and food. …show more content…
The women wore dress not pants back then. Also the men wore button up shits and suspenders like they did also back then and they also wore hats that were similar. Some families had to wear their clothing more than one day because they were poor and they had no money to buy new clothes. They need to save their money to survive and to the little bit of food they had on the table for their family. So in many ways the author reflects the time really well to the people that were in poverty didn’t have money for new clothes. It really looks like it was made in the time of the Dust
