Reflection Paper #2: Student Performance
If you were to think about the classroom as a stage and I was performing the role of the student, I would be categorized as a responsible student. I use many props – such as my backpack, writing utensils and my notebook – and I have an audience filled with peers and my professor. This is shown throughout various different characteristics of the student. Teachers, parents, and peers can all assume who is a good student and who is not by their preparation for the class, in-class behavior, and how they manage their classes on their free time.
It is permanently vital to be prepared for class not only for yourself but to show the professor what kind of student you are. This means that the student should have read the material beforehand to get a clear understanding of the theme of the following lecture and prepare any questions. Also, being on time and bringing the proper necessities to class will show your professor that you are ready to learn. Being prepared for class is the first impressions students show their professors. I complete my preparation the day before the class. I do this to refresh my memory of the new course material. In addition, if I have a question, I jot it down in my note book so I will not forget it the day of class. I always keep my needed supplies in my backpack and double check before every class. If you are not prepared, your professor may think down upon you, which is an undesirable way to prove your self-worth.
Behavior inside the classroom is correspondingly important. Just like being prepared, showing up to class on time can increase your chances of having a great first impression. Classroom etiquette involves staying throughout all of class while being involved and taking notes. Although I am very shy and quite, I give my professors clues that I am paying attention and am interested in their class. To do this, I sit in the front

    1. Class contribution. This is essential. Full participation is expected. Come to class regularly, don’t miss without a good reason (communicated to me), and contribute to the discussion, to your classmates’ learning, and to the making of a successful course. Attendance is vital; missing class for interviews or other unexcused reasons will have grading consequences. But good attendance is just a baseline; real class contribution involves full, constructive…

There are many theories on classroom practice, there are also many of ways which foster the approaches in which educators can create and facilitate students learning. To be able to create and conduct a positive and productive classroom atmosphere educators require the understanding of how to approach classroom management (O’Donnell et al. 2016, p.236) accurately. To implement strategies to accommodate to each child’s needs, it is important firstly to recognise why the student may be acting out…

Discipline, management, behavior, and misbehavior are concerns that every educator will encounter once the educator require his or her first classroom. As these terms are relatively interrelated, describing them separately in a word picture will be challenging. Envision a math classroom, two weeks after the school year begun. Within this time, the classroom rules, and expectations of students are well established; every student has received an agenda as well as a syllabus, detailing daily take home and in-class assignments that need to be completed for the semester. Students know that he or she is supposed to come into the class and get him or her notebooks, which were turned in from the previous day, and continue their next assignment when entering into the classroom. This process is part of the classroom management; students know the task at hand when he or she enters the classroom. The students who begin to do their assignment as expected are illustrating good behavior. Those students who tend to talk among themselves and entertain each other without doing him or her assignment tends to demonstrate misbehave. As a result, based on the rules of the classroom and expectation of the student, which was introduced on the first day of class, disciplinary action should be taken against those students who exhibited this type of misbehavior. Although these four terms are extraneous by far, they are related, and do share similarities and differences.…

Testimonies can bring even more power to the already powerful gospel story. When I think of powerful testimonies I think of Billy Sunday’s testimony. Sunday was a professional baseball player, and was also a drunk. Sunday was drunk one day with a few of his buddies, and someone invited him to the Pacific Garden Mission where he was saved.…

The first reflection paper is going to be on Prayer and Miracles. The important thing is that you want to pray. You yearn to spend time with God in prayer every day. Each individual has to find their prayer time. Life is full and in our daily frenzied life, one must set aside time to be with God. The hurried life style is so apparent in our culture today; everyone is in a hurry and want’s the drive thru prayer request. A miracle is an event attributed to divine intervention. Alternatively, it may be an event attributed to a miracle worker, saint, or religious leader. A miracle is sometimes thought of as a perceptible interruption of the laws of nature. Some suggest that God may work with the laws of nature to perform what people see as miracles. Theologians say that, with divine providence, God regularly works through created nature yet is free to work without, above, or against it as well. In casual usage, miracle is seen as any event that is statistically unlikely, but beneficial, such as surviving a natural disaster, or simply a wonderful occurrence, regardless of likelihood, such as a birth. Other miracles might be: survival of a terminal illness, escaping a life threatening situation or beating the odds. Some coincidences may be seen as miracles, for instance, “ God I need a parking space”, and then there is a parking space…then the driver says “Oh God Thank You anyways, “ I found one on my own”. Needless to say God provide in this coincidence.…

Throughout the day I realized that all the different types of products I use and how each one of the items come different parts of the world. The items that I used and consumed seemed to have come from far parts of the world and from close areas. Since I live on campus all of the beds on campus are made in china, I assume that the reason the beds are produced in China was because they needed a place that could do mass production. I do not believe that the beds that were made in China were made in an ethically manner. In china children create a lot of the things that we use in America, the reason why they use children in China is because children work harder and cheaper than adults. While it is not ethical it is still important to take into consideration that since there are so many people the need for items that we use daily must be fulfilled. The items that were made in the Asian counties were cheaper and seemed to come in a larger quality, compared to the items I have that were made in America.…

    4. Use Proper Language and Titles: Do not use slang or profane words in an education environment, even if they are words you consider, "not so bad," as they will sound offensive to the reader. Do not refer to your professor as "Doc" or by his or her first name, unless it is acceptable with him or her to do so. Also, do not use caps lock when typing. It insinuates YELLING. That would hurt someone's feelings and possibly give him (or her) the wrong impression of you.…

Reflect for a moment on your own classroom environment or on a favorite classroom environment from your own schooling. Are there (or were there) clear rules that emphasize what students should do rather than what they should not do? How will (or did) it change student performance? Are (or were) students called on equitably? How does it (or did it) change the learning environment? Do you greet each student (or were you greeted) every day? How will you make sure your classroom environment will promote student responsibility, self-awareness as a learner, and learning for the satisfaction of learning?…

There are a lot of books that have been written over what the different spiritual gifts are and how they are supposed to be used. There are quite a few verses in the New Testament that covers the spiritual gifts and how we are to use them. In 1 Corinthians 12:4-8 we are told, “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the sane God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same spirit.” The Bible…
