Math is fun!
When it comes to numbers, I usually know what I am doing. Math is one of my strongest subjects, as well as, my favorite. I have always done very well, in all kinds of math. Numbers come easy to me and I rarely need to use a calculator. My least favorite thing about math is when you are required to show step-by-step what you did to solve the problem. Like I previously said, I usually do math in my head, therefore, writing a long process out is time consuming.
During the course of high school (9th-12th grade) I took 5 different math classes. Most of which I scored A’s in. I took Algebra; I did excellent in that class and really enjoyed it. I decided to continue on and take Algebra II and I did just as well. During my 10th grade year, I took geometry, which I didn’t much care for. As a result of me not being interested in that class, I didn’t get as well of a grade as I usually do. Then I tried statistics, which I enjoyed. Basically if I was interested in the kind of math I was doing I paid attention and got good grades, but if I didn’t enjoy what I was learning I didn’t pay attention, therefore, my grades weren’t to my best potential.
Currently I am attending Kaplan University for my BS in Psychology. I have a core math requirement and one of my major requirements is statistics. I am in statistics right now, too. Statistics will be a vital part of my future career. As a psychologist I will use a lot of stats, so taking that course will be beneficial to me. I took MM212 as an open elective because I enjoy math and knew I would do well in this class. I feel good about taking this class because, so far, I am doing well. This class is giving me a good review of things I have already learned and I am confident that I will do great in this course!
Overall, I can succeed in this class if I put the time into doing the work and get help if I have questions or am
