Reflective Essay On 9/11, 2001

The tragedy that took place in New York City on September 11, 2001 will live in millions of American’s hearts and minds for as long as they shall live. Whether they experienced the attack in person or if they were just at work and witnessed it on television it is something they will most likely never soon forget. Over three thousand causalities took place in the United States and some, like many, remember it like it was yesterday. Others even had their lives completely changed due to their race/religion.
“It was like any other Tuesday to be quite honest. I woke up and went through my routine of getting ready for school, it wasn’t until I arrived to music class that I discovered what was going on. The teacher explained quickly the events that took place that morning. I knew immediately lives all over America would change for the worst, yet I had no idea the changes that would have taken place.”
Directly after the attack I felt I couldn’t walk outside. As time has changed things have changed as well. I don’t believe at all that we are anything like that today. However, things did change. There are still the people that give me dirty looks on airplanes, there are still people that get hurt to this day due to their race and religion. Airplanes and airports themselves probably most prominently changed.” Airlines have changed extremely since then. Laws were passed that caused more thorough searches and airplanes now have fortified cockpits. People flying also had to pay more due to the added security.
The attack on the World Trade Center has led lives to change for thousands if not millions. If not through charity and kindness, then it has led some to hatred and anger.
