Reflective Essay On Link Crew

Most recently, I’m partaking in Pam Damoff’s Youth Advisory Council which is a replica of Justin Trudeau’s council in the Oakville and North-Burlington region located in Ontario’s GTA. I hope to inspire change and initiate a social shift in youth’s mentality in recognizing our own power as a new generation. I want to demonstrate how undoubtedly capable youths are to create positive change by modeling initiative actions especially with such readily available tools and information at our fingertips. With a sole 2 week participation as a camp counsellor, I was granted the club’s volunteer of the week award. Some of my public-service support consists of aiding public events for the Canadian Cancer Society, opening the dialogue concerning mental health in my school, and advocating for injustices by signing numerous petitions. This is followed by sharing these pledges on social media in aims to educate my peers. Currently, I’m expressing my perception of my generation in an article for my school magazine. I hope to invoke a desire within my peers about the power we hold as youths and encourage us to challenge social norms rather than belittling ourselves through embracing a negative social label that brands us as a whining and thoughtless generation.
