The main points of this document describe how the NAACP was created in 1915. I informed readers who the first president of the organization was and what they have done to overcome discrimination by asking to remove the “white only” from downtown of Toledo. The document spoke about the first African American women who elected president in 1971 her name Dr. Samantha Adams. The article was published again to celebrate and bring awareness to the Toledo chapter's first job fair that increase opportunity and employment in the 1980's and 1990's. Last October 24, 2015, the Toledo chapter celebrates 100 years of its foundation.
2. The media uses the one-hundredth anniversary since the creation of NAACP.
This article summarizes how the NAACP organization created in Toledo. In 1915, Albertus Brown was named the first president of this organization, in 1918 NAACP members launch a successful campaign to remove signs “white only” from public places in downtown. In 1955, the chapter urges local leaders to not discriminate in hiring based on race. These were specifically aimed at Toledo board of education, housing leaders, and Toledo police.
3. Analytic Notes The art work’s main theme represents the newspaper communication, which is popular across the world, and widely used as the main forms of social communication, and media channels. The fact that this kind of communication is still alive, even though, the internet, TV, and forms of intercommunication have become commonplace, the newspaper and such printed articles are still used by the majority of people for a source of information. Conversely, most of the time, people are away from home or they could not find a reliable source of the information on the internet. The posting of photos sent a strong message to readers and using black and white color was always a headliner topic, that attracted people's attention which consequently created a larger following on reading historical events about this countries controversial past.
4. Personal Notes The reason I was attracted to this document, Was because I feel as if discrimination, which was first legally addressed by president Abraham Lincoln just before the civil war, is still a large issue in not just the Untied States but all over the world including my home country of Saudi Arabia.
Furthermore, I have noticed that there are a lot of civil right movements going on to overcome this type of discrimination. This article is in line with what we are discussing about the “Troth Telling” in Qualitative research.
My choice of the document presented in this analysis was influenced by the captivating image that is brought out by the art work. Indeed, the society today appears to be influenced by these four social media channels, which, some people have become addicted to. The art work highlights the phenomenon that has taken center stage in the modern society, which has become a prisoner of communication through these media channels.
The context that the document presents stems out from a long history that is a result of the revolution in the media circles and how communication is related to people across the globe. The newspaper revolutionized was the first mainstream form communication that created awareness to social events across the
world.
