While we’ll concentrate on writing the whole essay, we’ll also work on writing clear sentences and interesting, well-connected paragraphs— not to mention technical issues like grammar (see below). Using our main textbook, William Zinsser’s On Writing Well, we’ll focus especially on eliminating clutter and achieving clarity in our writing (I say “our” because it’s a lifelong process and I still need to work on it, too).…
When writing an essay there really is more to it than just writing words down and making sure the words is used correctly. When someone is having thoughts they need to write them down and just go from there. At first it may not be perfect, but the writer can always go back and change the errors that need to be fixed. Before reading this I figured it was going to be about bad writing and one should not worry if it is not perfect. This made me realize that it is not about how you write, but what you write about and how to get your thoughts across.…
The subject Aldous Huxley has chosen to write about is a world in which everything is “perfect” a world in which everyone feels fulfilled through false mechanics. Emotions of fear and anger are no longer stimulated through dangerous encounters with the outside world. Humans are treated through V.P.S (Violent Passion Surrogate) to feel these emotions with no harm being done to there bodies. This still gives them the adrenaline rush that they need monthly, allowing them to feel “alive”. The world Huxley creates tells us that the only way a perfect society can exist is to no longer allow humans to believe in supernatural forces such as God and jesus and to take away the fear of dying and getting old. Thus allowing humans no need for God.…
Overall, my essay was pretty decent since it is the first essay since last school year. Certain areas can definitely be improved to better my essay and make it stronger. In the future, In the future, it will be vital to remember to always use the proper essay structure and correct all the errors made in the past, such as pronoun agreements and other small…
I had no difficulty writing out the essay because of the numerous different drafts I typed out. I went over my ideas and organized my work through the outline you gave us which helped a lot when writing the essay. I gave myself enough time to skim through my book to find sufficient quotes that would help me answer the prompt and help support my evidence. The outline alone helped me organize my paper because it split up several parts of the paper through: quotes, claims, warrants, and the thesis statement. The different activities we did during class with our papers helped…

In this task I will be reflecting upon an incident undertaken on area of my work. The model of reflection I’ve chosen is Gibbs (1988), which involves reflection on the description, feelings, evaluation, conclusion and action plan (Gibbs 1988). The Gibbs (1988) reflective cycle is fairly straightforward and encourages a clear description of the situation, analysis of feelings, evaluation of the experience, analysis to make sense of the experience, conclusion where other options are considered and reflection upon experience to examine what you would do if the situation arose again. The procedure in which I will be reflecting upon is Last offices; I chose this due to how constructive and valuable it was in my personal and professional development as a student practitioner nurse.…
As nervous as I was when I walked into Saint Joseph Catholic School (K-8) for my first day of kindergarten, I never thought I would be able to leave after 6th grade and enter the world of middle school. In a small school of about 400 kids, I was familiar with every face that passed by me in the hallway. I got to know the kids in my grade so well and we all knew each other’s life stories. By the time I was in 6th grade at Saint Joseph, some of my friends were planning on going to Kinard middle school in 7th grade. At this point in my life, I was not completely content with where I was going to school. The realization came to me that it was time to move on. It was time for me to try something new.…
It is astonishing that my journey through English class has come to a close. My path has been a smooth and enjoyable one, and it is with great sadness that I begin to gather up the ends of my literary education. I know that I will continue to grow and develop as a critical reader/thinker throughout my life, but I will miss the educational structure that has shaped my literary understanding for the last year.…

My journey to become a Counselling Psychologist began in 2008 when as a Life Coach; I had a self referral who suffered from anxiety over his forthcoming exams in his second year at university. I started collaboratively setting goals to manage his workload and set timetable into manageable chunks through asking him challenging questions so that e can start to think for himself. He had plenty of resources namely his family, time, books but he just would not settle into coaching which left me feeling I was inadequate as a Life Coach and started to doubt whether he could manage at all. As a life Coach I didn’t have a supervisor so had no one to maul this situation over with.…
The writing process is a step by step process that requires different stages of development in order to construct an essay or paper. Every writer has a different and unique writing process. Personally, I believe that there is no single approach to producing an essay, rather multiple ways in which a writer may arrive at the final product. My writing process breaks down into four main steps; pre-writing, writing, revising/editing and then rewriting. Throughout my years of writing in high school I have never considered myself to be a strong writer. The writing process can be very frustrating for me, because even after I have done my brainstorming and organizing, once I begin writing I will instantly start crossing out what I wrote and changing my sentences. This sometimes can make the writing process seem long and tedious, and is often very frustrating, however, by exploring and practicing the different steps of the writing process that work best for me I will able to produce well written essays that clearly communicate my intended message to my reader. In this essay I will examine my writing process, in hopes of becoming a more skilled writer and communicator, and will further develop my ability to create thoughtful and well-constructed essays. Because I believe that writing is a skill that is utilized throughout a person’s life, it is essential to know how to prepare, organize and edit as it is useful in a myriad of situations.…
My sentences were reformatted to have an academic tone and organized to develop the ideas I wanted to portray. By the final essay, I was confident in my ability to create an argument and introduce it in a way that provided supportive evidence. Critically examining my essays strongly improved my understanding of aspects of the urban environment and structured my beliefs on concepts presented in the course. The process of writing can become tedious; however, being able to analyze my work created an idea of what I needed the reader to understand. This allowed me to structure my papers in an operative method. Clearly stating my ideas through comprehensible sentences makes my arguments able to be presented successfully. My word choice improved, my tone one was heightened, and ideas I formulated were fully analyzed. I sincerely believe that writing is the most important form of expression because it can be translated and understood by any culture for generations. Taking classes like English 802 are essential in being able to share ideas with the…
