Reform Persuasive Speech

Do you know a problematic boy? Do you think that the best for him is to go to a detention center, so he can be reformed and released to society as a good person? There is crime around us, and teenagers sometimes take place in perpetrating them, and as any person who commits a crime, they receive a punishment proportional to their offences and are sent to a detention center as an attempt to reform and lead them to a right path. However, the methods applied aren’t working as they are supposed to, there, teenagers are mistreated and abused, to be released not as a new and straight person, but being just like they were before, with traumas, or being even worse, because of that we should try other methods that really work. It is widely known that when teenagers are released from these facilities, most of the time are the same persons who entered, but now having traumas and struggle to continue with their lives, or continue causing problems to society. “Yet these institutions have never been found to reduce the criminality of troubled young people... They usually things such as: “17-year-olds [are] classify as juveniles as well. Are we to say that 17-year-olds are significantly more "immature" and should "not be held responsible for their actions" than that of an adult 18-year old?... If they commit the adult crimes, they should pay the adult consequences. It's not as if they don't know the difference between right and wrong” (Source 3). Yes, it may be true that in some cases, they deserve the same punishment that adults have, but it doesn’t mean that the punishments they apply are the best ones, as we have discussed before, these punishments don’t work, and we have better methods to deal with these
