Unit 1- 1.1, 1.2-This is a reflective account of the things I have done, experience and knowledge I have gained throughout the assessor 's course mainly during the process of assessment. First, I would like to describe the definition of assessment, its key concepts, stages to show the knowledge and understanding I have gained throughout the course. An assessment is a pre-agreed formal session with the learner. Assessment is judging performance against an agreed standard and is also a way of finding out if learning has taken place. It enables yo assessor to ascertain if learner has gained the required skills and knowledge needed at a given point towards a course or qualification. Assessment planning helps to identify opportunities for collecting evidence efficiently, including the opportunities for collecting evidence for more than one element or unit, it also helps to ensure that the evidence collected is authentic and valid and it involves candidates in their own assessment process. Before each assessment session the assessor will discuss with the learner and agree an assessment plan. The plan will clearly define what is to be assessed during that assessment and what activities will be carried out and/or documents created. The assessor will require learner to demonstrated competence over a reasonable period of time and that learner can reliably demonstrate the skills in the future. The assessor needs to plan with learner in order to choose the best method of assessments in relation to learner 's individual circumstances, for example taking into account any special requirements learner might have. Assessors must ensure that assesments are: valid, reliable, safe and manageable, suitable to learner 's needs.…

Assessment requirements Candidates must successfully complete all parts of an assessment to a satisfactory and appropriate standard in order to gain a pass for that assessment. The assessments have been designed to assess the ability of candidates to cover a range of issues associated with a given unit. Consequently, it is not appropriate for parts of any assessment to be omitted, submitted incomplete or be of an unsatisfactory standard. Tutors/assessors are reminded of their responsibility to provide written feedback to candidates regarding their assessments and of the fact that candidates should not be encouraged to submit work for final assessment until it is complete and to the appropriate standard for the task. Candidates must have achieved the minimum marks indicated for each task, and the overall assessment. Candidates may retake any particular task. Guidance on this is provided in the Assessment guidance document. Candidates may choose to word process their answers. Assessors may guide candidates in the length of their responses. They should use the marking guidance as a rough indication of what should be covered, and use the space provided in the task box as a guide as to how much should be written. Resubmission Candidates may resubmit their assessment work if tasks were failed on the first submission if centres think that a further assessment opportunity would result in a positive outcome for the candidate. Grading and marking Assessments are marked by the centre and graded Pass/Fail only. The…

In the learning environment it is important to ensure that assessment arrangements can be adapted for a wide audience. People entering assessment all have individual needs. Someone these needs can be affected by physical or mental disability or other aspects of their personal make up. These factors can affect a person’s ability and capacity to interact with assessments so care should be taken to ensure that these factors are taken into account when they are assessed. Assessments should not just be made available in one form. This will limit many candidates’ abilities to achieve success at their assessment. I will now review different factors which should be considered in order to help meet an individual’s needs.…
