Topic: Religion Affects the Way People Live
Religion is a collection of cultural systems, belief system, and worldviews that establishes symbols that relate humanity to spirituality and sometimes, to moral values. Religion plays a huge role in people’s lives. Based on people’s beliefs, it affects the way they live their whole life. It keeps them within boundaries. It gives them a conscious which determines how good they will be and how well they behave. Having faith in a religion makes people a better person. Knowing there is someone there for comfort and protection makes them feel safe. It can give someone hope when they are struggling to hold on to the shards of their broken lives. It can give someone who is an ignorant moron justification for any variety of atrocities. Religion can influence people to do good things, such as help people with charity work and help the poor. Religion can also be used to manipulate and hurt people, or exploit them for money. Religious people tend to be happier than non-believers. According to research published in December 2010 in the journal American sociological review, this happiness boost comes not from any particular denomination or belief, but from social joys of being part of regular services. Getting together with others at a church, temple or synagogue allows people to build social networks, closer ties and, ultimately make life satisfaction. In the rest of my research paper I will be talking about different religion such s Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism and how they affect the way people live.
Judaism is one of the oldest monotheistic religions and was founded over 3500 years ago in the Middle East. Jews believed that God appointed them to be his chosen people in order to set an example of holiness and ethical behavior to the world. Judaism is the original of the three Abrahamic faiths. The other two Abrahamic faiths are Christianity and

Islam is the second largest religion in the world with over 1 billion followers. Islam started in Arabia and was revealed to the people by Muhammad, who was the prophet. Those who follow Islam are called Muslims. Muslims think Islam was founded over 1400 years ago .They believe that there is only one God. The Arabic word for God is Allah. Muslims felt that god sent a number of prophets to mankind to teach them how to live according to his law. These prophets were known as Jesus, Moses and Muhammad. They base their laws on the Holy book called the Qur’an and the Sunnah. Muslims claim the Sunnah is the practical example of the prophet Muhammad. They also believe in The Five pillars of Islam. The Pillars of Islam are the Five obligations that Muslims must conduct in order to live a good and responsible life. Carrying out those obligations provides the framework of their life. Being Muslims affects the way people live because they pray five times a day, give money, to charity, they fast and make a pilgrimage to mecca at least once a year. In addition being Muslim affects the way people live because they are thought to worship Allah (God) and that the basis of all the worship is god- consciousness. Being Muslim can also be a bad thing because people always look and act a way towards them. They are Abused by the words of others with different faith. Hinduism is the religion of the many people in India and Nepal. It also exists outside the population of the sub-continent and has over 900 million followers worldwide. Hinduism isn’t like most other religions; it has no single founder, no single scripture, and no commonly agreed set of teachings. Some say Hinduism is the oldest living religion in the world and it stretches back many of thousands of years. Hinduism is closely associated with many Indian religions Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism. Throughout history there have been many people teaching different philosophies and writing numerous holy book. Writers would refer to Hinduism as 'a way of life ' or 'a family of religions ' rather than a single religion. The term 'Hindu ' was derived from the river or river complex of the northwest, the Sindh. About 80% of the Indian population regard themselves as Hindu. Most Hindus believe in a Supreme God, whose qualities and forms are represented by the multitude of deities which emanate from him. They believe that life is a cycle of birth, death, and rebirth, governed by Karma. The effect of Hinduism in people lives is heavy. It makes them believe in Karma (what goes around, comes around) this will make them think twice before committing any act that is bad. It teaches them to be vegetarian in order to be 'pure '. It surely helps them medically and spiritually. It also teaches them to respect every living soul, as they believe everything is God 's children.
