Rehoming policies – RSPCA (Rehoming policy, 2014.)
Stray animals are kept for at least seven days, this allows any owners of the animals found to be able to reclaim them.
All animals are given an examination by a veterinary surgeon before adoption.
Anyone under the age of 18 or without proof of identification are not allowed to rehome an animal.
No animals are allowed to be rehomed to anyone until reasonable steps have been taken to ensure the animal will have a good quality of life in the future. Once a match has been found between animals and a potential owner, a home visit will take place.
Potential owners should always choose an animal in person and never over the internet, mail order or given as a prize.

The pill needs to be placed in the cat's mouth as far back as possible, once, inside the cat's mouth, the jaw should be closed quickly, stopping the cat from spitting it out. To encourage the cat to swallow the pill, a finger can be lightly run up and down the cat's throat. When the cat begins to lip their lips, it shows that the pill has been swallowed (2).
