Review of Related Literature and Studies
This chapter presented the review of related literature and studies gathered by the researchers which has relation to the proposed study, as well as the theoretical framework of the study is shown here, and the operational definition of terms are also defined to provide an explanation and for a better understanding on the part of the readers.
Theoretical Framework of the Study The primary concept of the study was to build a Computerized Identification System using Barcode Scanner. The proponent utilized an Input-Process-Output (IPO) chart to illustrate the theoretical framework of the study.
Figure 1.0 Theoretical Framework of the Proposed System
Based from the Figure 1.0, it shown that the following input is used to create the proposed system, the barcode scanning. The student number and the information of student were verified. As well as the I.D. number and employee’s information were verified. Putting all the inputs and processes of the proposed study created the Computerized Identification System using Barcode Scanner.
Review of Related Studies
According to Baniego, et al on his unpublished thesis entitled “Shopping cart with barcode scanner and wi-fi technology system,” he stated that,
“The project is designed to provide a computing system embedded in the cart. Furthermore, it is composed of a barcode scanner, an I/O device and the wifi terminal. The barcode scanner will be used by the shopper to enter his/her groceries. The wifi terminal will be a wireless router to transmit data to the other end. The system is capable of accepting the item barcode, then giving its corresponding descriptions to the user display.” -MAPUA Institute of Technology
The said system uses barcode scanner to scan groceries and their corresponding descriptions will be displayed, like in the proposed system, wherein the students’ information will be display when
