Relationship Between Romeo And Juliet And Friar Lawrence
The relationship between Friar Laurence and Romeo and Juliet lead the two to an untimely death . Friar Laurence is a priest in Romeo and Juliet's holy church and a mentor to both Romeo and Juliet. When Romeo is swayed to go to the Capulet party he finds an unexpected love that brings him to the Friar's cell wanting to get married. The holy man that the friar was said to the blinded Romeo, “young men's love then lies not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes.” ( Act II, Scene III, Lines 71-72) Friar laurence is bewildered by the idea that Romeo had moved on so quickly from Rosaline that even he is blinded by young Romeo assuring him he's in love. There parts in their deaths were blinded by a love that they could not hold back, and who was to blame but there love blinded eyes. Romeo going to the party was a huge mistake. If he would have never gone he would've been able to move on from rosaline and find a true love. Romeo the night of the Capulet party had a dream that told him, “I fear too early, for my mind misgives. Some consequence yet hanging in the stars. Shall bitterly begin his fearful date.” (Act I, Scene IIII, Lines 112-115) If Romeo would have not listened to Mercutio about dreams he would have seen what the universe had in fate for him and wouldn't have gone to the party. But going to the party he found a bride. A bride he could not live without. After the party ROmeo finds a way to get to juliet and says to her, “If they do see thee, they will murder thee.” “Alack, there lies more peril in thine eye Than twenty of their swords. Look thou but sweet, And I am proof against their enmity.” Throughout the story there's constant signs telling you death will find them. Both Romeo and Juliet tell each other they would rather die than be apart from one another. Despite what Friar laurence and lord Capulet have done to agonise the deaths between romeo and Juliet, they are the ones who are listening through there minds not their hearts in carrying out decisions that they don't consider, which leads them to there death.
