What are you hoping to gain from your internship experience? (350 word maximum) Made widely available to students, internships are a great way for both the inexperienced and experienced to learn from professionals, including the Genovesi Environmental Study Center (GESC) staff. If admitted into the month-long program, I am given the exciting opportunity to closely interact and effectively care for the animals residing at the GESC. Not only is this a valuable hands-on experience, but an essential start to my career path as a veterinarian. Like most children, I used to think that I had a lot of time on my hands. Nevertheless, as I grew older and entered middle school, I realized how time is extremely limited and must be used wisely. As a result, I have learned how to be punctual, from handing assignments to arriving at a designated location. Punctuality shows an evidence of preparedness which can be applied to many aspects of one’s life. Because a majority of my assignments have an assigned due date, I am strongly encouraged to hand it in before or on the deadline, a point that all teachers emphasize, whether it’s classwork or homework. To ensure that I hand in my best work, I prefer beginning my assignments early in order to have time to revise and improve my work. Arriving on time is important as well. As a student, I am expected of me to arrive at school every day at 8 am sharp in order to receive maximum instructional time. However, I tend to leave my house early to prepare for any mishaps during my journey to the school or any other destination. Aside from school, arriving to work or an important meeting, such as an interview, is important as well. Lateness is generally associated with resistance, lack of respect and consideration, hence why many people regard time as an important component to one’s first impression. If admitted into the program at the GESC, I will try my best to be on time, although the commute time is approximately two hours, because I believe that punctuality is one of the keys to
