At some point in their life, every teenager goes through a change physically or mentally. For Audrey, her mental state and uniqueness had changed entirely after one event. In Finding Audrey, the author Sophia Kinsella proves her ability to discuss the relevant topic, change. After a bullying incident, Audrey stops going to school and is diagnosed with several disorders including Social Anxiety Disorder, General Anxiety Disorder, and Depressive Episodes. Not long after her encounter with a certain boy, Audrey begins to change. Audrey has faced a variety of conflicts due to her illnesses, however, after meeting Linus she has been able to overcome and face these conflicts.

The relationship between Linus and Audrey has brought plenty of development however, it has also created many conflicts within the novel. With a track of positive events, Audrey had faith the apology would go the same way. Her scheduled meeting with Izzy Lawton one of her prosecutors was just another roadblock. She had faith and wanted to take the chance, but Linus disagreed and believed that it was still too soon. Audrey had changed so much for the better that in the end, Audrey went ahead “No. I’m going” (242). not listening to Linus’s concern. She was given the idea that she was recovering, which she was, however, going to meet one of the people who flipped her world upside down was a huge leap. Linus understood this but Audrey did not. In the end, she realized that she should not have met the girl or at least not yet, and the conflict was soon resolved. This conflict affected their relationship but was soon resolved. Starting with no expectations to ending in goals for the future Audrey has changed into an entirely different person. Although she still has many more obstacles to face she will surely be ready especially with Linus by her side. After Audrey’s traumatizing incident at school, she no longer went to school. She started to isolate herself even from her family. After her first encounter with Linus change became possible. Her ‘lizard brain’ was still present but began to be buried beneath all the new experiences.
