An autonomous moral agent is a freethinker someone who is able to see outside of the box, compared to a heteronomous moral agent who is stuck inside the box and accepts whatever is imposed by another person unable to think for themselves. Self-realization is being able to see our own potential. In order to be a self-actualized person or self-realized you must be an autonomous moral agent. If you are a heteronomous moral agent, you will be trapped in the box and never be able to see your own potential because you are limiting yourself to accepting what other people tell you instead of being a free thinker. As an autonomous moral agent, you can see past other people realize your true potential. I do believe I am self-realized. I believe this because in politics I have to be able to set aside my own personal views and be able to be open myself up to the other side of an argument on an
issue.
3. The argument between free will and determinism is whether or not we have some choice in how we act or all of our acts are controlled. The argument for free will is that we as humans are able to choose our actions freely. The argument for determinism is we have no free will every action is governed by causal laws. I believe the argument for determinism is most correct. Using the example of the weather and choosing clothes. When you wake up before you pick out your outfit you check the weather first and dependent on the weather you choose what is most logical to wear. I would say that the weather is a causal law that often governs our ability to pick out clothes. I believe that there are casual laws that do govern our actions that we make.
4. The epistemological connection between rationalism, empiricism, intuition, and emotivism is knowledge. Epistemology is the study of knowledge and these four concepts are all based on knowledge and how we perceive it. Rationalism is the theory that our knowledge comes through reason or the ability to understand a process through logic. Empiricism is the theory that knowledge comes through what we experience with our five senses. Intuition is the theory that our knowledge should come immediately without the need for logical reasoning. Emotivism is the theory that our emotions influence our moral decisions. I think the best theory to explain why people make moral judgment is emotivism. I believe that every moral judgment that is made whether we know it or not is influenced by an emotion. When it comes to knowledge I think there needs to be a mixture between rationalism and empiricism. For an example of empiricism when building a bridge, the engineers need to logical think through the process to determine the correct materials to use. However, as a baby how to figure out the stove is hot is through empiricism we learn with our five senses and gives us the knowledge for later on in life.
