Buddhists originated in the northern part of Indian subcontinent. But most of the Buddhists today live in the southeast part of Asia. Buddhists make up about 6% of the world’s population, which are approximately 383 million people. In Canada, Buddhism is the twelfth largest religion in Canada and the fourth largest religion in the world.

The Buddhist view of God is that there may be a God, but there may not be. It doesn’t really matter to me because I don’t need a God to save me; I can only be saved by myself. The view that the Buddhists have is an agnostic view; one who claims that God may or may not exist and we cannot know either way.

The Buddhist statement of beliefs is summed up in the words witch they repeat on a daily basis:
I take refuge in the Buddha. I take refuge in the Dhamma. I take refuge in the Sangha. This Buddhist statement of beliefs means that the Buddhists believe that they take shelter upon the Buddha, the Buddha’s teachings and the Buddhist community.
