Holy land is an important site for all three monotheistic faiths because, for Christians it’s the city were Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead. For the Muslims it’s the place where Mohammad ascended to the heavens to meet God. Last but not least for the Jews, King David named it and was where Solomon had built the temple.

2. The three major monotheistic religions are sometimes described as branches of the same family tree. If this is true, how would you describe the trunk of the tree? The trunk is Judaism, It was the original religion of the god of Abraham. And Christianity branched it off about 2,000 years later, and the Islam branched off from those for about 700 years after that.
3. How are the three major holy books of the monotheistic faiths both similar and different? Judaism, Islam, Christianity. All three religions are strictly monotheistic. Christianity believes in the Holy Triune, in which God is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, but the three Abrahamic faiths believe that God has provided humans with the basics for living. However Judaism denies that Jesus was a prophet, as where Christianity and Islam acknowledge Jesus as a prophet.
4. How are the basic beliefs of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam alike? Judaism, Christianity and Islam are alike because they believe that not only in one god, but in the same god. They believe that there is only one God and that this God is the origin and source of all the existents. Also they believe in Abraham and the final judgment and resurrection.
5. What types of internal differences and divisions exist within each religion? The easiest way to separate Christianity is into the following five categories: Orthodox, Catholic, Protestant, Eastern, and Mormon. Each group believes that the other groups are failing their attempt to reach proper salvation through Christ and such as having their own methods of attaining this goal.
