Devon M. Berry and Kate York’s research article, “Depression and Religiosity and/or Spirituality in College: A Longitudinal Study of Students in the USA,” issued in the journal, Nursing and Health Sciences in 2011, conducts a study examining the ability of religiosity or spirituality (R/S) to support the recovery of depression. The authors were hoping to determine the connection between stress and depression and examine how cognition and religiosity affect the relationship. This study was conducted in two Ohio universities, one private and one public, for six months.
