Renaissance Dance And Entertainment

Music and dance were the biggest forms of entertainment during the Renaissance. People would sing and play an instrument for fun so, it became a part of everyday life. Some of the great music from this time period was sung by choirs. A new style of music consisted of blending voices at the same time. That style of singing was called polyphony and became very popular.
Also, the madrigal was another popular form of music. This form of music was sang by three or six singers. Like the polyphony, the madrigal had many voices singing together. The songs were usually romantic poems and were sung with lots of emotion.
