I was more than happy to do this, especially when I got to listen to the fourth and newest album by my favorite band, Rend Collective. Rend Collective is a folk rock Christian band based out of Northern Ireland and their current members are: Chris Llewellyn, Ali Gilkeson, Patrick Thompson, Gareth Gilkeson, Bridget Herron, Stephen Mitchell and Will Herron.

I was afraid the newest album would not live up to my expectations. Sadly, I did not like “As Family We Go” as much as “The Art of Celebration”. I felt that it was too similar in the musical stylings to that of “The Art of Celebration.” I think in order to come back successfully after a previous strong album, Rend Collective needed to do something different. I believe that “The Art of Celebration” was successful, because it was vastly different from Rend Collective’s “Campfire” album. As a band grows, it is important to show versatility in their sound and “As Family We Go” was too similar to the previous album and the lack of creativity to branch out to different instrumental music may have hurt
