Tropical rainforests are getting cut down at a rate of 6000 trees an hour, this extremely rapid deforestation of rainforests has caused rainforests that were once 14% of earth’s surface all the way down to only 6%, at the rate we are chopping rainforests will be gone in approximately 40 years. So some of us might not witness the complete deforestation of rainforests but we must protect future generation from this controversial threat. Rainforests are the means of supplying us with oxygen. And the human body cannot survive longer than 4 minutes without…
Unfortunately 17% of the forest cover has been lost in the last 50 years due to deforestation in the form of/to make space for logging, mining, cattle ranches, tourism,…
Peaceful defiance of laws effectiveness is all in the eye of the beholder. If done correctly it can bring attention to the movement in a positive light. However if it causes to much of a nuisance to people that do not support the cause it will receive much opposition. The most effective peaceful defiance of laws in my opinion would be the Civil Rights movements of the 50s and 60s. With their leaders they perfectly blended the ability to get their word out with complying with others to achieve what they wanted. Now at the time their tactics must have been a nuisance, but that is why it worked so well. They implicated many plans that involved people of all age and even all race to make people see how badly they were beimg treated. That is unlike…

Sales in e-commerce have continually been increasing, in 2017 the United States total e-commerce sales totaled at 453.46 billion dollars. [2] However, the majority of this money is coming from the population who is wealthier, and has a steady disposable income. The gap between the wealthy, and the less fortunate is a potential threat in foreign countries where Amazon offers their services, but it is also an issue in the United States. In certain areas, there are large disparities that could eventually cause disposable incomes to slow and decrease, which would lessen Amazon’s total revenue. With a large population of people having access to the internet, and internet users increasing each year, more and more people are looking to online commerce companies to be able to buy the best products, with the least expensive prices, that can be delivered to their doorstep. This convenience is offered only by online retailers, such as Amazon. However, although people are trying to find ways to increase productivity in their lives, today, many are not willing to sacrifice the environment for this. Environmental sustainability is a very important idea in the business world, especially for those online. They must be constantly be looking for ways to reduce their waste, pollution, and packaging. With customers increasing concern with this aspect of business, online businesses have been able to eliminate travel time for…

According to Rogers, "Individuals have within themselves vast resources for self-understanding and for altering their self-concepts, basic attitudes, and self-directed behavior; these resources can be tapped if a definable climate of facilitative psychological attitudes can be provided" (Rogers, 1980). Developed by Carl Rogers in the 1940 's, the Person-centered method is a supportive type of therapy where trust is the most essential concept and clients are encouraged to create positive changes for themselves. It focusses on the here and now where everything is self-regulated such as self-awareness, self-development, and self-expression. It is an emotional and psychological approach to the person; a ‘way of being’, from which perception of self, reality and behavior may be reorganized (Rogers, 1947). The limitations of person-centered therapy reside not in the approach itself, but in the limitations of particular therapists and their ability or lack of it to offer their clients the necessary conditions for change and development (Thorne, 1991), as the therapist will begin to draw inferences that may represent the therapists own projections rather than the client’s actual experience (Schultz & Schultz, 2013). Person-Centered theory differs from the psychoanalytic theory in that the person-centered theory is based on the humanistic philosophies whereas psychoanalytic theory is mostly deterministic. A difference between the humanistic view and the deterministic view is that humanism is based on the concept that the client has the freedom to make conscious choices and will automatically grow in positive ways (Corey, 1996), whereas the deterministic theory of Freud’s proposes that only after the client gained insight into the unconscious could he or she operate by choice rather than that of habit (Corey, 1996). Rogers ' theory states that human nature is driven by the inherent desire for positive self-actualization, and places the client in direct control as the…
Rainforests, as their name implies, are very wet and rainy places. With increased human availability to these areas we could extract large amounts of fresh water to combat the global water crisis. Development of rainforests can also lead to increased space for housing. In an evermore crowded Earth, The need for more housing is always presenting itself. Development of rainforests could provide housing space for millions or billions more humans;…

The philosophy of Tree Appeal is to plant and conserve trees within the UK and globally in recognition and appreciation of the environmental and humanitarian benefits that trees deliver to the wellbeing of our valuable planet. Trees are the longest lived organism on the planet and therefore planting trees is an investment that creates a global ecological heritage for many hundreds of years. We must demonstrate that we are seriously addressing our own country’s environmental issues. Only then are we in a position to influence global environmental changes, like arresting the cutting down of rain forests. Most environmental damage occurs as a consequence of business activity. We therefore believe the way forward is to give environmentally responsible companies the opportunity to integrate tree planting into their product and service offering and gain a marketing advantage for doing so.…
