DUTCH-BANG LA BANK LIMITED (THE BANK) IS A BANGLADESH-NETHERLANDS JOINT VENTURE SCHEDULED COMMERCIAL BANK ESTABLISHED UNDER THE BANK COMPANIES ACT 1991 AND INCORPORATED AS A PUBLIC LIMITED COMPANY UNDER THE COMPANIES ACT 1994 IN BANGLADESH WITH THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE TO CARRY ON ALL KINDS OF BANKING BUSINESS IN BANGLADESH. THE BANK IS LISTED WITH DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE LIMITED & CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE LIMITED.
THE BANK COMMENCED ITS BANKING BUSINESS WITH ONE BRANCH FROM JULY 4, 1995. THE NUMBER OF BRANCHES AS ON 31 DECEMBER 2006 WAS THIRTY-NINE DUTCH-BANG LA BANK LIMITED (DB BL) IS A JOINT VENTURE BANKING COMPANY WITH 30% FOREIGN EQUITY PARTICIPATION. THE BANK FORMALLY COMMENCED ITS ACTIVITIES ON JUNE 03, 1996.
In the history of banking industry of Bangladesh, it is observed that non-performing asset of a bank increase with the increase of its age. Dutch-Bang la Bank Limited is an excerpt ion to that. Its classified loan rose to its height at .72% as on December 31, 2000 and thereafter it came down to 23% as on June 30,2004. The absolute amount of classified loan has also been reduced from T 56.41 million to T 29.77 million as on June 30, 2004.The aforementioned indicators indicate the solid base of the bank having positive growth in all its operations sincere and hear felt gratitude is due to our respected shareholders, valued customers patrons and well wishers for their continued supports and advices in all our development program.
