Report on the Threatened City is mainly a story about a mission on Earth that has to do with aliens and all of the humans living in the planet. The story is narrated by an alien and it is displayed as a real report. In the story the alien talks about his mission that was about warning all of the humans about something that was going to destroy all living things on Earth.
The story focuses on the narration of the behavior of the humans. The alien, as giving the report, is in charge of describing all that is happening around, adding up, all of his attempts to warn the people in the place he was, as all the results those attempts had.
According to the story and the report of the alien, humans were paired into two major groups, the young humans and the adult humans. These humans were described very differently depending on which group they were put. When the alien talked about the young humans, the descriptions were always approaching their careless and really weird behavior, happy and having a food life, also they seemed to do not understand the situation. As opposed to what the descriptions made for the older people, who were more serious and minding their own business. The only similar description between these two major groups was that none of these humans really cared about what was going to happen or weren’t even aware of the magnitude of the problem. This means that the aliens saw humans as very intelligent creatures, but having a flaw, which was a very big and notorious flaw. In other words, this was one of the themes expressed by the writer in the story.
Talking about attempts and warnings, humans didn’t even care about listening to these since they didn’t believe those were true at all. So aliens were starting to think how hopeless the mission was. However, they didn’t quit this very important mission. Also, the story has a mix of the science fiction with the real situations, because both are put together in here.
