[Wave] would be the first casino resort in Hainan province, the landmark in the “Golden Tropical Beach”. [Wave] aims not only to bring the guests the high profile gaming experience, but also to offer the guests rich non-gaming offerings, through various entertainment and leisure service. A boardwalk signifies relaxation and entertainment. What better place to build a fabulous boardwalk entertainment village than in the tourist capital of America beautiful Las Vegas, NV, to be more specific, Lake Las Vegas. This is a lush lakeside retreat located only 15 minutes east of the famous “Las Vegas Strip.” It is surrounded by natural red rocks and borders the Lake Mead Recreational Park. Several other hotels have already graced this manmade lake along with two award winning golf courses, and gourmet restaurants and exquisite shopping. Currently, there are two lakeside parcels remaining with great frontage and access to the shops and golf as well as many aquatic activities including sailing, fishing, canoeing, and small boating. Development of the structure would be made through a partnership with Lake Las Vegas LTD, the chief land owner within this region. We feel that with a strategic partnership with the land owner, in the form of a land lease, our overall build-out costs would be drastically reduced and would yield pleasant tax incentives for this form of business structuring.…

The Republican period of Roman history began in 509 BCE after the last Etruscan kings was dropped. The Republic was controlled by the Senate, which was an assembly by dominated upper-class families. This dominance by the aristocracy led to tensions between the social classes, especially among the lower classes who fought for equality in both the economy and the government. Despite these inner struggles, Rome's military power strengthened throughout the 5th and 4th centuries BCE and by 270 BCE they commanded the entire peninsula. 264 BCE brought the beginning of the three Punic Wars fought against Carthage over control of the western Mediterranean. These resulted in victories for Rome which granted them access to the wealth of Greece, Egypt,…

In “Twelve Caesars”, Suetonius writes the anecdotal memoirs of the 12 kings of the Roman Empire, starting from Julius Caesar all the way till Domitian. His work is unparalleled in detail and is a rich primary source on the history of Rome. Suetonius writes a detailed memoir about each of the kings, outlining in vivid detail their actions, their lives, their accession to the seat of power and their deaths. There seems to be a general mix of virtue and vice in the character of these kings. Using the real life incidents occurring in their lives, Suetonius gives the reader an idea of the different good and bad qualities of these illustrious men as emperors. These kings exhibit qualities of being modest, just, doing public good, improving and repairing the building and infrastructure of the empire and improve the administration of the empire as well as vices of cruelty, incest, extravagance, decadence and vanity. In what follows, these qualities of what constitutes a good emperor and a bad emperor will be discussed with the help of Suetonius’ biographical memoirs in Twelve Caesars.…

    1. Overall I would classify Marc Antony’s speech as largely monosyllabic as a whole in length. This took a much longer time to decide than it did of Brutus’ speech, this could be that Antony is a smarter and nobler person or that it’s just how Julius Caesar constructed the speech to persuade the crowd. One of the lines that demonstrate a great use of one syllable would be “My heart is in the coffin there with Caesar and I must pause ‘till it come back to me” (Shakespeare, Lines 108-109). This is just one of the many lines that uses a lot of one syllable words but in the end the speech was mainly one syllable in length.…

The Forum of Julius Caesar, nearly built 2,000 years ago, stands in ruins today. The construction of this forum represented part of Caesar’s reign and contribution to the Roman Empire. Now part of the Roman Forum’s history, the addition of the Forum of Julius Caesar gave exaltation to Caesar himself. The Forum of Julius Caesar or Forum Julium is an ancient Roman building whose purpose and design was created ultimately for the glory of Julius Caesar’s reign of the Roman Empire.…

From the beginning of the Roman Empire a series of imperial archives was kept, records which covered the rulers of Rome including their personal behavior, their interaction with those around them, and most importantly their achievements during their reign over the empire. Suetonius, the author of The Twelve Caesars, produced the biography during the reign of Emperor Hadrian for whom he served as the imperial secretary gaining access to the imperial archives. Suetonius used the imperial archives and a series of first hand accounts to produce his work which covered in vast detail the inner working and personal aspects of their roman leaders beginning in 70 BC to 96 CE. Divius Julius and Augustus were the first two of the twelve Caesars which began the development of Rome, beginning with Julius’ first consulship and coming to an end with Augustus’ passing. During their reign Rome became the most powerful and prosperous empire at the time through the conquering of territories such as Africa, Egypt, Spain and parts of Germany. Following the death of Augustus in 14 CE., the reign of the last four Caesars of the Julian bloodline began. These final four Caesars of the Julian bloodline included Tiberius, Gaius, Claudius, and Nero. All of these Roman rulers had their own differing personalities, vices and means of ruling the Roman Empire. This paper will thoroughly explore the development of the final four Caesars over the course of 14 AD to 68 CE. Along with the changes that the Roman civilization experienced during the Caesars reign, the decisions of these Roman Emperors that lead to Rome’s changes, the analysis of their decisions, the personalities of the four Caesars, how the public viewed the Caesars and finally my own opinion on the Caesars.…

Good morning, people! I came up here today to talk about something that might make you bored a little bit. I believe everyone in this room has read one of Shakespeare’s plays more than once in their life. I would like you to recall the first time you read his writing. What was your first impression? Good? Sad? Or were you overwhelmed with great agony from deep inside your heart? Did you hate yourself, not understanding a single word on a page? I don’t wanna sound like an I-know-everything person, but believe me. When I read the first page of Macbeth, I just knew it from instinct -- this is not my type of book. The words were too lofty, his syntax was overly complicated, and his characters would just suddenly speak out their thoughts. I mean,…

Act I, scene two of the play ‘The Tragedy of Julius Caesar’, written by William Shakespeare will be changed from ancient Rome, to 1953 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Las Vegas in the 1950’s had a lot of major events such as Frank Sinatra’s first performance at the Desert Inn and the Las Vegas Park opened but then closed due to 12 fatal accidents. The nightlife of Las Vegas is a perfect setting because it fits in with the backstory of all of the characters. The backstory is that Julius Ceasar, who will be changed to a female named Julia, started up her own business in New Jersey that started off well but soon started to fail so to get back on top Julia turned to illegal activity. Julia Caesar has almost the ‘killer with a conscious’ personality. Even though Caesar started off doing illegal activity that made her rich, Caesar is giving back to the community such as giving fundings for schools and giving a lot of money to charities. The people instead of disliking her or fearing her, see her as their hero. Caesar made more money and tried to expand in Las Vegas where Caesar made it big. Once Caesar started to gain more than enough wealth she started to build more casinos and hotel. Caesar eventually became the leading boss in Las Vegas, through her businesses as well as through illegal activity.…
