By looking at the title do you know what it is about? The Tyrant Lizard king is actually the nickname of a dinosaur you probably do know which is, Tyrannosaurus Rex. The T. Rex was about Forty feet long, about fifth teen to twenty feet tall. Although the Tyrannosaurus Rex was big it was not the biggest dinosaur, compared to other dinosaurs he was quite small! Unlike what you may think, the T. Rex might not have been green; no one knows what color it was. The Tyrannosaurus Rex had a big head. The Tyrannosaurus Rex had two strong legs and two tiny little arms (Three feet long) each with two fingers. He also had a straight stiff tail that was good for giving it balance and for it to make quick turns. The T. Rex weighed…

Maurits Cornelis (M.C.) Escher was born on June 17, 1898, in the Dutch province of Friesland. His parents, George Arnold Escher and Sarah Gleichman Escher, had three sons of which Maurits was the youngest. The Escher family was living in Leeuwarden in 1898, where George served as Chief Engineer for a government bureau. The family lived in a grand house named "Princessehof," which would later become a museum and host exhibitions of M.C. Escher's works. Young M.C. Escher moved with his family to Arnhem. M.C Escher lived in Arnhem for a while, in order to improve his health. In 1907, in secondary school, his marks were poor except in drawing. His art teacher took an interest in his drawing talent, and taught him to make linocuts. He failed his final exam and thus never officially graduated. In 1913, M.C. Escher met his lifelong friend Bas Kist. Kist was also interested in printing techniques, and may have encouraged M.C. to make his first linoleum cut works. In 1917, the two friends visited the artist Gert Stegeman, who had a printing press in his studio. Some of M.C.'s work from this year was apparently printed at Stegeman's. Also, in 1917, the Escher family moved to Oosterbeek, Holland. During these past few years, M.C. Escher and his friends became very involved in literature, and M.C. began to write some of his own poems and essays. In 1918, Escher began private lessons and studies in architecture at the Higher Technology School in Delft. He managed to get a deferrement on military service in order to study, but poor health prevented him from keeping up with the curriculum. As a result of always being sick he could not continue school (he had never successfully graduated from high school!). During this ruff period in time, Escher did many drawings, and also began using woodcuts as a medium. It was also at this time that his work began to receive favorable reviews in the media. Still trying to pursue a career in architecture,…
They often eat Horned Lizards and other reptiles but, there is a documented case of a rattlesnake being killed by a Texas Horned Lizard’s spines while trying to ingest it (Vorhies 1948). Mammalian predators include infamous animals such as the coyote, bobcat, raccoon, and possum. This long list even includes invasive animals such as the feral pig. Like their avian and reptile counterparts these predators usually predate both the animal and their eggs (Hernandez et al 1997). Last but not least the biggest predators these animals face are human. This comes in many different forms such as urbanization, mass agriculture, introducing invasive species, and directly hunting or killing these animals. With their cryptic behavior discussed earlier Texas Horned Lizards are often run over along roadsides while thermo regulating (Moeller et al 2005). Hunting is historically known for causing the demise of several animals, but in today’s laws prevent this. In retrospect the popularity and nostalgia associated with hunting Bobwhite Quail and catching horned toads is what has created such an effort to preserve…

What picture of ‘a family’ do we get from Animal Kingdom? (You might like to think about how this compares to the family shown in Muriel’s Wedding or, especially, Ned Kelly.)…
The snake is a common factor in a number of James Dickey’s poems. In many cultures, snakes are associated with death. In Egypt, snakes were used for sinister purposes such as murder and suicide. In Greek mythology, snakes were often associated with deadly presences. Medusa, the Gorgon, had snakes growing from her head instead of hair. In Christianity, the Serpent tempted Adam and Eve into eating the forbidden fruit. God cursed the Serpent “above all animals”…
3b. Based on this cover, I believe that the creature is very vulnerable, as he is naked. In addition, I think the creature is ashamed of himself as portrayed through his curled up body language, almost “hiding” his body from the scientist or the society around him. Moreover, his face, which appears flustered, indicates his anger toward the scientist, who created him. Lastly, the creature’s white eyes may symbolize his childlike innocence, despite his fully- grown size. On the contrary, this image could also be representing how the creature views himself, as a…
This magnificent painting dates back to Lascaux, France 15,000-13,000 B.C.E. It was found on cave walls and it is said to represent one of the earliest examples of artistic expression. We can see that this piece was created during the Paleolithic period because; they are images walls using paint on limestone. We can see that the primitive people used natural rock contours, which suggested the animal’s volumes and portrayed real representations of a major role in their lives, which were the animals. We can see horses, bulls, deer, cows and more animals on the walls of these caves. Furthermore, the images of the animals are overlapping earlier illustrations; this would suggest that what made the people at the time want to paint the animals was the simple act of portraying them, instead of focusing on the effect that their act would achieve. On the religious part of this piece, we know that several of the paintings were situated far from the entrance of the caves. This type of placement followed by the gigantic size and great importance of them would tell us that the secluded rooms were used for ceremonial and sacred gathering places. I would have to agree with this interpretation due to the fact that it is believed that main use of the caves was for worship and initiation rituals.…

Lizards belong to the class Reptilian, Scientists have said that reptiles have been on earth for about 200 hundred million years. Lizards are the largest group of reptiles with more than 4300 species around the world. Lizards are found in sub-tropical and tropical regions of the world. Lizards come in different shapes and sizes. Most of the lizards are quite small have four legs and have a fragile tail that can regenerate when part of it is gone. They look similar to salamanders. Lizards are ectoderms meaning they cold blooded, meaning they depend on outside sources like the sun, to raise and maintain their body temperatures. Eating habits for lizards is very different, it depends on the species. Some lizards feed on iguanas which are insects, some eat rodents, and some eat both rodents and insects. Lizards use their teeth to scare predators off as protection. Very few lizards happen to be poisonous and use their venom as a defence. Other species of lizards rely on camouflage such as the chameleon that is able to change its colour according to its surroundings, as a defensive strategy. Females of most lizard species lay eggs and then are usually left to hatch on their own. The most well-known venomous lizards are the Gila monster and he Mexican Beaded Lizard. They are found in Mexico and south west of United States. These lizards are classified in the Family Helodermatidae which has one genus containing only these two species. Both of these lizards have been known as the only venomous lizards for a long time. But more recently discoveries have been made that there are more…
