Research and Overview of an Undeveloped Village
Research: I have researched in various fields about the problems of the rural peoples. I, with the help of my friends have visited 14 villages, 261 houses, and made a detailed report about their problems; which I depicted below. Drinking water problem: * Out of 261 families, only 7 are having pipe water supply, which is 2.6% of the all. * Only 14 families use purifiers, which is 5.3% of the overall, in their houses. Electricity: * Out of 14 villages I visited, 8 of them have electricity supply. The rest of the villages are still in dark. * 120 houses have electricity supply, which is 46% of the all. * Further, most of them suffer 8-10 hours of power cut daily, which is completely devastating. In summer, the situation becomes more critical. Cooking Gas Facility: * 50 houses out of 261 has gas facility for cooking purpose, which is 19.15% of the all. * Others use woods for the same, for which they are destroying forests, causing deforestation as well as air and environmental pollution. Cultivation: * 116 families depends on cultivation for their livelihood, which is 44.44% of the whole. * But, due to adoptance of traditional cultivation method, they yield a very little from their farm. * Most of the others are labours, working in different parts in India. Water supply for cultivation: * Out of 116 families depending on cultivation, not even a single has water supply for their farms. * They don't use any modern machines, rather carries water from its source to their farms by using buckets etc., which is another main drawback of their cultivation

Even though she knew this day was coming it did not make accepting it any easier especially when her six-year- old brother Elijah got to attend school, and have the childhood she longed for. However, with the recent water issue of not being able to find safe and clean water, due to this development Abshi and other village girls soon had a full time job trying to find safe and clean water access for their families. Kweifio-Okai, Carla. 60 percent of the population live without a safe water supply, has the poorest access to clean water in the world: The Guardian, adapted by Newsela staff 03/25/16. According to the Why is Safe Water Essential? (video) This task became extremely important after some of the villagers became sick and some even dies due to diseases found in unsafe and dirty water they had been drinking or using in some way. Even though, Abshi, her village or the other villages did not know exactly what was happening to their water access, they did know that was going to have to change or they were all going to die from dehydration or a disease from water. Unknown to any country outside of the United States (because the U.S was the one who performed the poll) a poll was performed on safe and clean water access in other countries. The poll results according to Kweifio-Okai, Carla. The five countries ranked lowest for were…

Oh no!! As I was making my last rounds to check on my patients before my shift was over, suddenly, the electricity went out. We thought maybe it was just a power line down in the area or something of that sort, but as the desk-representatives began to call around on their half charged cellular devices to see what the problem was, we came to learn that the whole town of Oxford was experiencing a black out. “What a night this is going to be”, I thought. Thank God for generators!…
