CHAPTER 1
The problem and its background
Introduction
“The essence of mathematics is not to make simple things complicated, but to make complicated things simple.” – S. Gudder. This quotation shows how Mathematics makes things simple. We all know that Mathematics is not an easy subject especially to the students who are taking engineering courses. All the students are having difficulties in the subject of Mathematics and that’s why FEU-East Asia College comes up with an idea to have MRC which means Math Resource Center. “Listen too many, speak to a few.” – William Shakespeare. This quotation of William Shakespeare tells us to be open to what other people will say and we should voice out our thoughts but not all the time, there is a limitation. In English we need to study how to speak the language order for us to communicate in other country and we should know what to say and what not to say. Many students are having difficulties in speaking the English language and to enhance their vocabularies. FEU-East Asia College built another center; the ERC which means English Resource Center.

Background of the study
In this world, there were two important subjects that a person or students must study for. And that is English and Mathematics. A person who is good in English subjects usually took a degree in Mass Communication, Foreign Service and even a Law course. Were ask when you are excel in Mathematics definitely we take up an Accounting, Major in Mathematics and even in Engineering course but very few are both good in both subjects if so, this people are those who are called God gifted.

Department of Communication and Mass Media University of Wyoming Laramie, Wyoming, USA Currently, limited research exists that explores the socially taboo topic of interracial dating between African Americans and European Americans. Historically, African Americans and European Americans have had a highly destructive relationship of enslavement and oppression, which has resulted in a history of mistrust, according to P. H. Collins (African American Feminist Thought : Knowledge, Consciousness and the Politics of Empowerment, New York,Routledge, 1990). As a result, this relationship symbolizes the institutionalized oppression embedded in race relations despite the very intimate nature of this romantic relationship. Using the centrality of race within the context of romantic relationships, this study was designed to determine how race in uences the communicative process. Q-sort methodology was used, which required participants to determine what waiting, hinting, direct, and third-party intervention strategies they would use to initiate a date in both same-race and interracial contexts. Findings reveal that when comparing verbal strategies across both contexts and open-ended responses to likelihood or reality of dating interracially, participants were resistant to the idea of dating a person from another race. External factors such as family and society were cited as primary deterrents to involvement in an interracial romantic relationship. In general, participants in this study used more social distancing strategies for initiating interracial dating relationships than same-race dating relationships. Mathematics is highly valued in our society but for many students the thought of learning mathematics is daunting. Learning mathematics in primacy school may have been a positive experience but it may have also been filled with frustration and anxiety. If a teacher has a negative view of mathematics then their students will adopt this view. Students must be shown the relevance and purpose of mathematics in a real life and meaningful way. There is no doubt that mathematics is an indispensable tool for understanding our world. As we move through the twenty-first century no one can be clear on what mathematics will be needed, but it is clear that students will need to know how to reason mathematically and apply mathematical thinking to a wide range of situations (Reys, R. E., Lindquist, M. M., Lambdin, D. V., Smith, N. L., Rogers, A., Falle, J., Frid, S., Bennett, S. (2012). Helping Children Learn Mathematics (1st Australian ed.). There are several issues that have been raised in this case. One of them, for example, is whether the management should allow the right of return to the wholesalers or risk losing the sale? If management does allow the returns, the question becomes how it should be accounted as they have no previous recording experience. One decision made by the management was to raise the candy price by 10% in order to cover up the losses from returns. They decided not to record the expected/estimated amount of losses or returns, since it was already been covered by the raised price of candies. The main issue now is whether the management’s decision of not recording the estimated returns of merchandize violates the GAAP regulation? We have considered three alternatives. (1) Record the estimated return amount even if it is hard to estimate, (2) Raise the prices and do not record the estimated returns considering it would be immaterial, and (3) Revenue recognition should be deferred until the payment is made.…

A covenant is a promise or an agreement with binding obligations. (Arnold) In relations to the Bible it signifies God’s pledge to bless mankind. The characteristics of a covenant are such that they are irreversible and permanently binding. The Bible contains many covenants, most of which are contained in the Old Testament. One of which is prophesized in the Old Testament, and for Christians the promise is fulfilled in the New Testament. The major covenants in the Bible are the Noahic, the Abrahamic, Mosaic, Deuteronomic, Davidic, and the New Covenant.…
