Research Paper

There is a sport known widely across the world, played by many, and most importantly respected by many. This sport is known as soccer or futbol. Soccer is a sport played in many countries and the rules never differ. Soccer is a foot based game where two teams battle to score goals on the opposing team’s goal. More than 240 million people play this sport around the entire world. It is the single most watched and loved sport known in the world. Soccer can be played competitively or for leisure with a group of friends, as soon as you can stand up and kick a soccer ball you can become a soccer player. Soccer is one of the oldest sport found in history, it can be played simply with just a little bit of soccer knowledge, and it has grown into a widely viewed intense competition across the entire world.

Soccer is one of the oldest sport found in the world's history. Signs of soccer have been found dating back to Ancient egypt, Ancient China, and Ancient Rome. Thats over four thousand five hundred years ago. Quoted in Football Bible, the author states, “Based on drawings, scholars theorize that Egyptians played a football-like game during feasts of fertility.” Back in Ancient Rome, balls made of linen, animal intestines, or animal skin were found in tombs dating back to 2,500 BC. These balls were kicked around at fertility feasts to celebrate the abundance of earth. About two thousand years later, from 476 to 221 BC a more soccer like form appeared in Ancient China Called cuju. This most closely translates to “kick the ball with foot”. Cuju was played with a feather filled ball made out of leather and the players were confined to a rectangular field. To score a goal you had to kick the ball between two poles with cloth hung between them. Cuju could be played with varying amount of players, anywhere from two to tn players. When played in
